What inspires you?
LOL, I love creating things. I fell in love with roller coasters and though it may not be my main inspiration In track making It's part of the reason and drive regarding my track making. The other 2/3's comes from my love of racing games, and unforgettable racing experiences, and the when everyone can enjoy something equally. I try to build unforgettable pieces that people will all enjoy equally.

Who are your favorite creators and creations? (Tracks, Mods, Karts)
That's a difficult question because I have met so many talented creators, and many I feel don't quite get the credit they deserve and most times slip under the radar. I hold different favorites for different things. Overall, I would say as creators I have to give credit to RamonM64 cause I really enjoy his Karts, tracks, and Mods. He's a one-stop shop, but individually is different. IndustialSavior devin93, and coty4803 are my favorite quality track makers. Alpha_23_omega, Devin93, and alwayswilliam make pretty cool unique karts. endlessillusion and endlessillusionX. I also like Yika, FNXhell, RamonM64 are my favorite Mod creators.

What are your favorite creations? (Tracks, Mods, Karts)
My favorite Track of all time as just about anyone knows is MagicalHamster's super computer, it's genius. My favorite Mod and Kart together are Twister TMHO, and Twister's Kart TMHO by badmexy. They are a perfect recreation of car and character Twister from Twisted Metal head on (my favorite twisted metal character).

What is your creating process strong point?
I'd say involving my Mods I try to make them unique and funny. I'm not one to make serious or overly developed Mods. My

Karts are built and based on and for my Mods. My true strength comes through in my track making. I strive to make tracks as enjoyable for everyone as possible. This especially means making tracks that are functional to drive in all speed settings, not just one or two. I make sure to thoroughly test out my tracks to make sure that it can a) be raced in both rookie and elite, b) has as little reset errors as possible, and c) it be as fair and balanced a racing course as possible (all alt routes, and shortcuts don't become the main route, as tested in time trials). After all if it's a racing game and it's a race track it has to be designed to fairly race on.

What have you learned most from other creators?
I have learned that 1. know your target audience. You want to make things directed to a focused group. 2. You can't please everyone. You can try but you just can't live up to "everyone’s" expectations. 3. Make sure you love it. If you make it and you yourself don't it, than you made a mistake. and lastly 4. If "is" broke, fix it. A hard one to live by seeing as how there is a major flaw with publishing and correcting previously published works, but fixing broken track/mod/kart is worth the trade.

What advice would you give to newer ModNation creators?
Don't go crazy with item pods, or traps. Smooth out your tracks, Scenery comes second to a good race. If you are trying to imitate a person, car, or location it probably has been done before.

Other Interests?

primary.png

As I mentioned I love roller coasters and theme parks. I have built a over 50 coasters on a program called No limits coasters, I have over 340 coasters in roller coaster tycoon, and tycoon 2, and I wish to go into roller coaster design. I live about 40 or less miles away from the nearest theme park and can easily access three major theme parks all under 200 mi of travel distance. I also love video games, but that's a given

Acceleration or Speed? / Drift or Handling?

It depends on the room size, or what I'm racing. Plus 2 speed, minus one handling on Hot Lap. Plus 1 speed, minus 1 handling for rooms of 5 or less. 0 speed, 0 handling when racing a room of 5-8. Minus one speed, 0 handling in rooms of 9-12 all assuming the race is action

What type of tracks do you like to race? (scenic, drift, fast, silly, race-oriented, etc)
I like drift, silly, and race-oriented type tracks, tracks that were built for racing, and built for racers. Occasionally it's fun to have a laugh with an odd shaped or oddly placed prop track, but it's nice to have a well-planned track to race on. Scenery isn't a big must for me, and neither is having to go fast at all times.

Your theme idea for a creation contest?
I would love to have a Future theme with glass tunnels, really shiny complex buildings with lots of metal indents, a lot more cars, trucks, busses, etc. as props to place on the road, robotic plants, teal sky, Instead of concrete blocks and pipes, have plastic.

Do you "see" track ideas when you travel?
I do, I visited a national forest and it became a track. I live in the suburbs and that became a track. I live  in the desert and that also became a track. I pull instances of what I see to be tracks, but it's only a small percentage of my tracks the others are based on places I visit in my dreams.

Biff or Gary?
Hmm...I love biffs ...confidence? but I have to say Gary for the win. Go team blue.

What is your favorite creation  theme and why?
My favorite would be Alpine, but not for its props. I like that it gives a nice sense of depth of space, I love it's terrain brushes, and nice and green, and it's very versatile. I am a little disappointed that there aren't any gravel or asphalt type choices in brush but I can live with that. My favorite prop theme however is Seaside cause I love the buildings it offers both city and village.

What is your favorite UFG track and why?
My favorite would be Fracture because I'm sure it took a long time to get the terrain just appropriate that people could drive and hop along it at the appropriate heights. I also like the banks made in the track as well I love the active props and their usage in that track.

What is your TOP TIP in your chosen field of creation? (mod/kart/track)
My top tip in my field (track making) would be to thoroughly test your track out. Test it in multiple speed setting in quick race, test out the time differences in alt routes and shortcuts in time trials, and test it with friends as a first scratch  to see if the props, item pods, reset zones, turns and boost pads are appropriate. Too many tracks are just a mess, and too many people are willing to thoroughly test them, or re-do them after published.

Favorite weapon?
Is sideswipe a weapon? My favorite weapon would be a level one rocket. It's so vicious a weapon and is overly looked. It ricochets so even if you miss it might bank shot. There is little time to block it. If you shoot it from a distance It may confuse players to waste a little shield to deflect it even when it's missing. You get more shots per race (three level one shots compared to one hydra). And plus if you fire one into a group of racers you are bound to make something happen.

Favorite race type (action / pure / time trial/ online)
I prefer an online action race in casual mode. The drawback is that you don't' get race XP, but you get to see a lot more unique tracks, and meet a lot more people.

ModNation Racers “Player Profile” Questions

(Tracks, Mods, Karts) That's a difficult question because I have met so many talented creators, and many I feel don't quite get the credit they deserve, and most times slip under the radar. I hold different favourites for different things. Overall, I would say there are far too many. I love everybody's stuff, but...I do want to throw a few shoutouts to INdustialSavior devin93, coty4803 Alpha_23_omega, Devin93, alwayswilliam, endlessillusion and endlessillusionX, Yika, FNXhell, RamonM64, magicalhamster, Ivoyaridovich, mabsterB, Indianwolf, livingstoni, atheistsw, livingstoni813, whitef8ng, ArgorokXand gideon54 for awesome creations over the last year.

What are your favourite creations? (Tracks, Mods, Karts) I'm confused by the question. Are you asking me my favourite creation that I made or that I enjoy?

My favourite created creations that I made are 12 gallon farm-being one of the first 5 created tracks that I've made, and having been published and unpublished multiple times still has a charm that I enjoy about it. My favourite created mod that I made was apache (since unpublished), an edgy new aged native American racer. My favourite Kart is one that I crafted for mark. It was a gold Truck with modnation inspired bevelled details, and marked with a giant M. There are only 3 in existence (seeing as someone else snagged one while it was published :smileytongue:)

As for ones I haven't made:

My favourite Track of all time as just about anyone knows is MagicalHamster's super computer, it's genius.

My favourite Mod and kart together are Twister TMHO, and Twister's Kart TMHO by badmexy. They are a perfect recreation of car and character Twister from twisted metal head on (my favourite twisted metal character).

4.      What is your creating process strong point? I'd say involving my Mods I try to make them unique and funny. I'm not one to make serious, or overly developed mods. What have you learned most from other creators? I have learned that 1. Know your target audience. You want to make things directed to a focused group.

2. You can't please everyone. You can try but you just can't live up to "everyone's" expectation

4. If "is" broke, fix it. A hard one to live by seeing as how there is a major flaw with publishing and correcting previously published works, but fixing broken track/mod/kart is worth the trade.

What advice would you give to newer ModNation creators? Don't go crazy with item pods, or traps. Too many will ruin the experience.

Smooth out your tracks, not just the banks, but the dips as well. Karts flying off the track at every ill banked turn and dip is a bad thing.

Scenery comes second to a good race. Yes, everyone likes eye candy, but if you can't drive it it leaves you with a sour memory of the track.

If you are trying to imitate a person, car, or location it probably has been done before, so try to be original.

Don't give up. You may not have a hit your first run, but never give up on it.

Other Interests? As I mentioned I love roller coasters and theme parks. I have built a over 50 coasters on a program called No limits coasters, I have over 340 coasters in roller coaster tycoon, and tycoon 2, and I wish to go into roller coaster design. I live about 40 or less miles away from the nearest theme park and can easily access three major theme parks all under 100 mi of travel distance. I also love video games, but that's a given. I have a fondness for cooking, drawing, and politics.

Acceleration or Speed? / Drift or Handling? I used to use different speed settings based upon the size of the room, but have since adjusted to speed +1, unless in hotlap, which I will use speed +2. I alternate between default, and +1 handling, but the only real difference is knowing when to let go of your drift.

Hot Wheels or Matchbox? Hotwheels. I always bent the wheels of matchbox, plus matchbox always felt bulkier to me for some reason. Didn't really work well with my looping hot wheels tracks either.

What type of tracks do you like to race? (scenic, drift, fast, silly, race-oriented, etc) I like drift, silly, and race-oriented type tracks. Tracks that were built for racing, and built for racers. Occasionally it's fun to have a laugh with an odd shaped or oddly placed prop track, but it's nice to have a well planned track to race on. Scenery isn't a big must for me, and neither is having to go fast at all times.

Your theme idea for a creation contest? I would like either to see a tour contest, or a hometown contest. Let me explain. In a tour contest you would need to create not one track but multiple tracks with tie-ins with each other (kinda like the grim tour) created amongst a team. The hometown contest would be a creation of mod, kart, and home track that each share the same flair (for instance a darker character, with a grundgy kart, and a course that matches), pitting track makers, mod makers, and kart makers in an awesome collab trio..

Hmm..I love biffs ..Confidence? Still, I have to say Gary for the win. Go team blue. Besides, when has biff ever given in-debt tutorials about modnation? :smileytongue:

What is your favourite creation  theme and why? My favourite would be alpine, but not for it's props. I like that it gives a nice sense of  debt of space, I love it's terrain brushes, and it's colour, plus it's immensely versatile. I am a little disappointed that there aren't any gravel or asphalt type choices in brush with alpine but I can live with that. My favourite Prop theme however is seaside cause I love the buildings it offers both city, and village props, and I use them often. Got to admit I'm really digging the new themes as well.

What is your favourite UFG track and why? My favourite would be Fracture because I'm sure it took a long time to get the terrain just appropriate that people could drive and hop along it at the appropriate heights. I also like the banks made in the track as well, and I love the active props and their usage in that track.

Too many tracks are just a mess, and too many people aren't willing to thoroughly test them, or re-do them after published. Yes, it will never be perfect, but a little effort goes a long way.

Favourite weapon? Is sideswipe a weapon? I kid. My favourite weapon would be a level one rocket. It's so vicious a weapon and is overly looked. It ricochets so even if you miss it might bank shot. There is little time to block it. If you shoot it from a distance It may confuse players to waste a little shield to deflect it even when it's missing.  Another reason I like it so much is you get more shots per race (three level one shots compared to one hydra). Plus if you fire one into a group of racers you are bound to make something happen. Lastly, you can lose a level 3 hydra to someone using one themselves, why give the person behind you the opportunity to take your weapon before you get to use it? The way I see it it with all of it's benefits it should be used a lot more often, and I wouldn't mind if it had a little more bite to it.

Favourite race type (action / pure / time trial/ online) I prefer an online action race in casual mode. The drawback is that you don't' get race xp, but you get to see a lot more unique tracks, and meet a lot more people. It would be especially nice if you could invite people not on your friends list to a gameroom, or invite co-op players.

Additional comments for player profile I've been playing since release (pre-ordered), I have over 700 posts between the three forums I visit based around MNR, I've created multiple waves of locales, and characters, and karts (most of which needed to be removed so that new creations can be made), and still play the game on a broken ps3, and yet...still just a ghost in the machine.

How has your racing style evolved since you started playing? Well, I've now learned how to burn a lot more boost

I want to encourage anyone who has not had their profile selected, or did not have the correct one selected to dig into your mailbox, find the one sent in, copy it, and paste it as a new modnation profile in the modnation player profile forum. There are many unheard stories out there, and even though Mark is gone that doesn't mean you can't keep celebrating yourselves.
