New track - DesertThemes1v1

Right then. I know it's pretty dead in here but I'm going to post a new track anyway. It's called DesertThemes1v1 and my PS3 ident is anaximperator. As with previous tracks, it's freely editable if you want to improve it.

Following on from the VacationNation idea of trying to create distinct areas I've made a more concerted effort this time, and there are 4 very different environments you'll race through, each with its own unique challenges. Let us start, as we should, from the beginning. Oh, and I'm going for full size images this time. Because I'm allowed to.

Immediately after the Start/Finish is a plummet down to where they moor the cruise ships. I say "they" - I mean "me".

This a narrow, very tricky section with some evil corners and no banking or chevron warnings to help. Oh well - at least it's flat.

You now climb up to a generous wall ride unsullied by the presence of hazards.

The direct route straight ahead would be ideal of course, but it's a minefield of hazards (everything but mines, actually) - oh, and don't boost up the ramp or you'll hit your head on the entrance to the covered section. The mega jump to the right takes you on a longer trip but it's a lot safer. Whichever way you go, you then enter a short tunnel.

The wild rock formations offer plenty of route choice - take the main track or choose one of three shortcuts.

Back out into the hot sun, and we enter (or bypass if you wish) the village area which is cut by four separate shortcut paths. These are friendly enough, by and large, except for one - on which it's quite possible you'll meet another racer head-on...

ds7.jpg

...here, in fact. One route out of the rock formation will bring you along the left-hand path, towards the flamer. Other racers may be heading towards you to take the right-hand path rather than the tunnel.

Here's the right-hand shortcut path, the chevron in the bottom left being the warning of a tricky little corner. Talking of tricky, the exit from this shortcut back onto the track (and, after a handily placed Devastator, the Start/Finish) is a 90 degree jobbie to be taken with care.

Have fun with it, and I'd be right chuffed if you'd be so kind as to leave some feedback.

Anaximperator isn't my real name, obviously. That would be silly.
