could someone fill me in on how to get the little modnation profile card at the bottom of your messages?

community.modnation.com -> signatures (on the left side of the screen). At this point you will have to log in.

There should be an option to enable the signature, and two codes. Copy either code to your forum signature. Then you have to go to one online race and wait a while for it to start working.

Sorry if I forgot something. I myself found this to be somewhat difficult at first.

Having trouble signing in to modnation.com? I've sent a message to one of the forum mods to see can they fix it.

yeah, im having publishing problems too, i think someone was trying to fix that

I can't remember if its the official signature or one somebody created a while back, but you need to complete a race online for your signature to work.
