stickers and clothing issues on mods

I tried a search before posting but putting in "stickers" or "clothing" did not help.

I am trying to coat my entire mod in a sticker which works fine but when I put clothes on the mod they appear UNDER the sticker. I thought, "no big deal" and removed the stickers, clothed the mod, then tried to apply the stickers after the clothes. The stickers still covered all the clothing.

The only thing I could figure out was to clothe the mod then apply the stickers to the uncovered portions of the mod's body (head, arms, neck). This kind of worked but was very time consuming and does not look nearly as good since it is patchy.

Is there a work around for this? Am I missing something obvious? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

No, that's how it's supposed to work.

I guess I can understand how it's annoying for what you're trying to do, but it's not a bug or anything.

One thing you could try, is making the clothes from stickers, yourself, then making those stickers the lop layers. Other than that, I don't think there's any easier alternative.

Thank you for the reply. I didn't think it was a bug, I just thought I was missing a different way to do it.

I will try what you say and make sticker clothing to go over the sticker "skin".

I had put a t-shirt on the mod and then trying to sticker the arms without going onto the shirt was hard plus the stickers looked all patchy since I had to use multiple ones to cover all the skin.

Why not just edit the colour of your mod?

i.e. change the skin colour, then add stickers lower down the arms which is much less fiddly?

Re: stickers and clothing issues on mods

I had kind of assumed the sticker he would be trying to use would be a pattern or texture not available in the skins section of the Mod creator thing.

TBH that advice just seems a bit patronising.

Not meaning to speak for other people, your post just struck me, that way.

Re: stickers and clothing issues on mods

I am trying to use a texture not available through just changing the color of the skin. One of the things I tried to do was just fiddle with the skin color but was not the same.

I appreciate any ideas anyone has. I guess this is not a big deal in the scheme of things but I just could not figure it out.

I ended up making a sticker shirt and then using the texture I wanted for arms, head and neck. This was not ideal but certainly worked better than what I had tried.
