hey guys. the recently released (US) ad hoc party (and soon coming over to the EU) enables people with ps3's to use that as a server so we with our psp's can use ad hoc where ever we are in the world rather than have to be next to each other.
SO in preparation for this i would like to add a few ppl (or as many as want to) to my ps3 so we can all link up and play and help each other with quests.
so maybe we could use this thread as an ad hoc party "hook up".
what do u guys think? is there a need for this?
thanks and good luck hunting.
That gives PSP + PS3 a +1 over MH with inherent online then, because it has never had voice comms. And it also means that I can start AdHoc party, then plug the PSP into the TV if everyone is using voice.
I think any of the newer (i.e. not the original model) can, no? This is how, although the kid in the video goes the long way about changing display output... if you just hold the display button for several seconds it switches to TV output mode.
The important thing is having the video out socket next to the headphone socket. If you got that, the lead (which may have come with the PSP - mine did), and a TV with appropriate inputs (most have I think) you're good to go.
You might need to mess with your TV aspect button to get the best zoom with minimal borders or cropping. But it looks great on my 32" full screen. It looks as good as a PS2 :)
EDIT: oh, yeah...Chains of Olympus and Patapon look frickin' awesome on TV too.
EDIT2: If any MH fans haven't checked out Patapon, you might like it - there's a very similar farming/hunting/building vibe to it, although obviously the core game is very different lol
Be nice if you could use the right stick to control your weapon like the good ol' days. That was, well, weird, but it worked really well.
Nah, I'd prefer the right stick to be used for the camera. The way you have to control the camera on the PSP is awkward.
Nah it's the MH way - even when it had a right stick. It's part of the skill of mastering the controls. Although it probably would make the game more accessible.
I like my "roll and adjust camera" style :)
Hmm, I thought everyone played using "The claw" (using your index finger to move the camera).
lol the claw! that just sounds painful to be honest, I just jump m thumb to the D-pad when I need too, index fingers are usually on the shoulder buttons lol
Yeah I cant use the "claw" method it just feels too weird. I just use flick my thumb up to the d-pad or tap the L1 button to center the camera depending on the situation.
^ This is me too. I roll so that I can rotate the camera while still moving if need be. The game is predictable enough to not require constant eyes on I find.
I was wondering if there where more people who wants to play Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep. I have more fun playing with others then alone.
PM me over PSN if you are interested, my PSN is: Sixty-nl
And does anyone know if there is gonna be a Update soon, since most games support more then 4 players, so it might be more fun/better if like 6 or 8 players could get in a room.
omg this new forum lay out is cool :D
anyway got another few days of moving house before i can get back into MHFU, anyone got any idea of the best weapon to take out balaros? (think its spelt like that) the big armoured dragon thing, i tried with my LS but just bounces off :S thinking might need a hammer. any ideas?
Firstly, yes the new lay out is awesome, though it seems to have slowed down some loading time for me :smileysad:
And secondly, I took out that rock munchers baby (Basarios) with the a Hammer and it was pretty easy, you just need to work out where to hit him otherwise you do just bounce off. I pretty much stood under him and smashed hell out of his belly. Also that helps avoid some of his attacks as his tail can't hit you. Just be careful of his poisoned farts.
Equipment I used was full Hi-Metal Armour set, all peices upgraded to lvl 5 I think, and the Hammer they call Iron Striker+
