yeah my equip is the best i can get at my rank, i farm like a *****.  the best water element weapons available to me at this rank are not as good as my raw so i use the raw. end level narga stuff weapon wise should be more than enough. as for armour i have several sets and a keerap-ton of gemms for pretty much everything. i think my gear is more than adequate. the problem sadly is me. im just not getting this guy right... i mean im hr8 and i got there solo, so im not a total noob. i just seem to be having some sort of mental block or something, seriously every other monster up to this rank i have put down multiple times... many times actually... i just cant sink this bastid... feh

The monsters in this game are mastet trolls. Like roaring for times in a row and somehow get dizzy. Trap you in a corner, when you wake up, you dizzy then it kills you,won't be in range and you'll get hit. You just gota keep trying dude. It will eventualy stay out off the lava long enough for you to damage it

That's the downside of random attack patterns I guess. Sometimes they seem to spam a cheap combo that you have no chance again. A particular hatred of mine is when they spam some move that makes them unaccessible (blos under the sand, plessy in the water for example).

Is there a trick to get him out of the lava? (Like sonic bombs for plessy?)

I don't think there is a way. There no glitch either. Like in the dual black diablos quest. It took so many times to beat it. I only managed that quest because the second one somehow ended up on a ledge and stuck in a walk cycle. Killed that one in 5 minutes

the closest thing to a glitch for lavasioth.

is taking advantage of the doorways between lava's areas. the doorways have a sort of safe zone where lavasioth cant hit you with physical attacks, so if you stand just in the doorway you cant be hit by swimming, quake or tail attacks. so if you take a range weapon you can unload on him like theres no tommorrow. the only problem is his fireballs can hit you so your dodging skills have to be good. most people have luck with this method but whenever i try it my lavasioth spams his fireballs like crazy (12 times in a row yesterday thats 36 fireballs i had to block /dodge) which i never manage to survive...

im still not getting any love so i have been seeking solace in the loving embrace of god eater burst which i have to say if any of you guys havnt picked it up go do it now! its not MH sure but it is an excellent game and a great counterpart to MH.

getting back to the OP's topic (thanks mr HB for letting me hijack your thread) how many of you guys do solo it out there? and are any of you in north devon? (thats where im at)...

Yeah I actually soloed it to the very last level of g-rank.. which is probably one of the greatest achievements of my gaming career! That series really knew how to be hard at times. killed that black gravios with 14 seconds left, never forget it

I had similar happen to me. With the one horned Diablos. Had 4 seconds left when i trapped it. You can imagine how i panicked. Lol
