Monster Hunter Portable 3rd on PS3?!

[ Edited ]

So, apparently Capcom are porting MHP3 over to the PS3 in Japan. The two versions will be able to be played via ad-hoc party.

I do hope they realise it over here!

Capcom Unity were tweeting last night asking if anyone would like the MHP3rd HD Ver to come over to the west. As you can imagine there were load of people tweeting back saying yes :smileyhappy:

Re: Monster Hunter Portable 3rd on PS3?!

Hopefully it's a test bed for a full blown PS3 version (i.e. trophies and proper online) using the development pipeline they already have set up for PSP development.

Slightly disappointing that it uses AdHoc Party to go online, but still I guess it makes sense with all the PSP units they have out there.

I won't hold my breath for an EU release though, given how long we usually wait for releases from other territories.

Hopefully there will be enough people tweeting back, it would be awesome to play it on ma PS3.
With a bit of luck Capcom might even decide to release it at the same time as Japan, you never know,,,

Think positive IS!

Not quite MH on PS3 that I was expecting but I'll still take it if it comes out over here. Suppose we just gotta wait and see if there is an announcement, possibly at E3 in a couple of weeks.I'll have my fingers crossed lol.

Yeah, it's not Frontier-esque, but it'll satisfy me. Other than the demo, I haven't played 3rd, so it would be a new experience especially as there'd be a DS3 in my hands - no more PSP claw!

Re: Monster Hunter Portable 3rd on PS3?!

Is my understanding correct? It's online via AdHoc Party only right, and it's not supported on the 20gb PS3 because it has no wireless, so do you have to run AdHoc party on PSP to play the PS3 version online? Weird, but it's good that PSP and PS3 users can play together...

Re: Monster Hunter Portable 3rd on PS3?!

I would have thought that the PS3 would hook up to Ad-hoc party some other way. You need a wired connection to play your PSP online via the PS3 because the PS3 can't recieve the interent shizzle and the PSP's shazzle at the same time. I'd have a guess and say that the PS3 will be able to go online no matter what connection type you are using.
Well, that's what my limited knowledge suggests to me, anyway.
