I recently purchased the game (about a week ago).  After completing the main campaign and such, I thought I would dip my toes into the online multiplayer. However I keep receiving the following messages:

"There is a problem communicating with the server. Please check your network connection and try again"

"Problems communicating with the server"

and it occasionally shows error: 80710092

Now what makes this odd, is that I am connected to PSN perfectly fine (I even send messages while waiting for the error to show up). In fact earlier today I was playing Portal 2 online with no issues.

I assume this is a port issue or has the server been taken down?

I'm using a BT Home Hub if that helps.

There is nothing you can do. We are all getting the same problems. It is up to Evo to fix the servers. Sorry.

Well that sure as hell sucks. The game has been out months so I thought any niggles like this would had been sorted a long time ago!

It's more annoying in that I can't level up and unlock other cars that my housemates would like to try out in splitscreen!

Eararaldor - First of all let me apologise for the deafening silence (except TRAXX) that was in response to your question. I can only assume that most ppl on this forum assumed you were either being sarcastic, taking the **** or could not be bothered repearting themselves. Assuming that you are neither I will try to answer your original question.

You should be able to get some online multiplayer game although you will face some issues most of the time with connection problems, game freezes, getting kicked form the game etc.

I must admit I stopped playing MSA some months ago so am not totally up to date on the current issues but reading the forum the issues persit. They may have got better or worse for all I know.

It is unlikely that the situation will improve (IMO) because the ppl at Evolution Studios are currently working on Motorstorm 4 which has the working title Motorstorm WDCAOCAWHTMSTCGS. Not a very user friendly title I know but apparently it stands for .We Dont Care About Our Customers As We Have Their Money So They Can Get Stuffed.

I hope you enjoy Motorstorm Apocalypes Servers Fu****** (to give its full title) and I'm just sorry you wasted your money (hopefully you got it cheap or you can sell to a housemate). If you have any other questions let me know as it will give me the opportunity to be even more negative and to continue my rant.

I appreciate the response. So you should be able to at least get online? I can't even get to the games list. (Well managed it once this morning). I don’t mind too much not being able to play online I just want to unlock some items for split screen!

Oh and some mp trophies would be nice to boot!

I kind of expected Motorstorm being a first party title not to have issues like this!

I have absolute faith in Evo. I'm sure they will fix the servers. Eventually. Besides, the Pacific Rift servers are perfect, after only three years of tweaking. oh yeah, and for the record, I'm experiencing NO server problems, I guess I'm lucky.
