bridge to nowhere is my personal favourite. just the outright sense of speed and the fact you drive down the bridge as it falls. still having trouble entering that final hairpin at massive speed though. theres something not quite kosher in going round that at full speed, and i havent found a technique to get round it without braking. yet.
coach party i think is still a fun test of skill for outrunning that bloody plane.
i also love the bridge part of mash`s epilogue. having played the e3 demo i wasnt expecting it and the physics just blew me away on that.
Waves of mutilation :smileysurprised:
I think this is the one I'm thinking of.
If it is... then I say Waves of Mutiliation.
...if it isn't, then I say... another track with a hurricane on it :|
coach party....outrun a plane?? dont remeber that
you need to be first otherwise youll miss the event :smileywink:
It's difficult to choose a stand-out track because I love so many of them, but my favourite district is Mainline.
The sense of speed through the subways and sewers is immense - it's such an adrenaline rush plummeting through the darkness with your headlights on, avoiding the smouldering trains and supporting columns and not quite knowing what's around the next bend!
Can't choose between:
A Bridge too Far
All great tracks, although I do like at least 15 others.
@kegs11 - have you mastered the hairpin yet? I tend to leave max boost and enter it from the most left position of the normal bridge, then straight heading to the inner curve of the hairpin, tapping handbrake once and right after that full boost and turning right all the way until you see the "opening" of the normal bridge, then releasing the rightward turning and usually you're almost out of boost by this time so releasing that too and just speeding across the little bump on the left side of the normal bridge. don't know if you get what I mean but I've been pretty succesful with this tactic. Doesn't take into account any other vehicles in your way though, so you have to be alone when entering the inner curve.
and yes, outrunning that plane with my muscle car is always so sweet, gotta be wary of the leftmost palm tree on the turn though ;)
and for the subject. a favorite track is very hard to choose since they are all so good and well designed, but at the moment I would have to say it's "a bridge too far" since it's superfun with a mini, seems to blow people's minds when doing a good time with it.
favorite tracks in this game change a lot, at first it was suburban shakedown just for the sake of all that's happening in it, then it was wargames but that kinda got stale after figuring it out too well, and it really doesn't show up too often on multiplayer anyway.
they are all good so I don't complain no matter what track comes up, and if I have to, just for the sake of it, the skyliners are all too similar compared to each other, but it's a nice change every now and then to be flying to your doom. Especially when someone on an atv punches your laaarge car midair x)
I don't know if it's my favourite to race, but I love the concept and design of the Skyline races, such a rush leaping from rooftop to rooftop and squeezing through those narrow desecrated offices! :D
I try to avoid those damn corridors on skyline as much as possible =) It's all over though when someone pushes you to the right a little on that one part of the roof which is kinda bent down from both sides.. or you hit a damn rock with your buggy wheels =)
but yes, the design is there, and it's definitely something that hasn't been done before, not to this magnitude at least.
yes i understand exactly what you are on about with the hairpin! because i have mastered the exact technique youve described! except when i enter at max boost, i have the perk that allows you to "max slam" so always use that to get myself left, handbrake and have had just perfect drifts round that hairpin recently.
if you get the steering input wrong in a rally car however, as in you still have a bit of leftward steering you will still end up going up the sides of the damn thing.
but do take note people, krisses technique is probably the best way of getting round the end hairpin fastest!
I still struggle to associate the tracks with their names, but at least once the race starts I know where I'm going now. My favourite districts are Mainline, Terminus, Good Herb and Docklands. I like Skyline but find the three tracks too similar to each other. If I had to pick a favourite track it would probably be End of the Line, Buena Vista or Rising Damp.
my favourite at the moment is 'Ship Shape'
here's a video i made of it ;):
I love Waves of Mutilation, most of the Good Herb and Skyline tracks, they're the real stand-out ones for me, absolutely blew my mind when I first saw them.
Mine would probably be Docklands "Rising Damp", I still remember when I first saw that huge cargo ship go sliding across the track in front of me, fog horns blazing. Awe inspiring stuff.
If it was down to track likeablilty alone and not just the epic track destruction, i'd say Good Herb "A Bridge too Far" or Upper Bohemia "Baked".
Upper Bohemia - Suburban shakedown
Love the destruction, more of the tracks should have it on this scale.
