I've now decided that Credit Crunch is my favourite track, but only because I recently won two 14 player races on it using an ATV, avoiding crushing and ramming. It's quite fun being on the edge!

Lol, kudos for that, anyone who can get an atv round there against a near full grid without being squashed is a drving miracle.
Hate that hell-hole, havent had a first there since the very beginning when no-one actually knew where to go.....
I managed to check my times under a second account today and it seems im not even in the top 200 and theres only like 6 glitched times at the top. (remzfire is sitting pretty at the top with a 2.39 in a PLUGGER for anyone who still insists on MTs)

kegs, It's probably not that people insist on the monster, just that you have better chances of survival with them. In any case I think that on Credit Crunch they have made the worst starting positions on the whole game considering what kind of track it is and what vehicles you most likely will be using in it. Start at the front with a monster, pretty much nothing can get past you no matter how quick they are (provided you don't spin the monster when landing the first shortcut jump (a little nudge from behind is all it takes)), and "at the front" meaning on this track the rightmost position of the first line of racers. The sheer claustrophobia those two options at the start gives you is amazingly painful at times.
As you can't really try and hold back on the acceleration and hope you can get past them after the jump either, there's just so much traffic in so little time coming from behind. So I think this is the track that is based no luck the most from all the tracks in the game, just because of the starting position. Sure you can climb your way from the back but it would have to be perfect and the guys in front would have to make mistakes..
but on the subject, I have started to like City Limits now for some reason, maybe because it has that wide space needed for 16 players battling it out and you kinda can get that racing feeling on it. Fast and furious, and you don't lose too much time by choosing if you past the trains from right or left, or go through the watery part or the grassy part, or at the end if you choose the right or left route. It is very much balanced and when people choose the "right" vehicles it is fun as hell. You're kinda on the _skin_ but not quite there for the most of the race. Granted there is pretty much always a few big rigs or whatnot to mess things up but there's so much space.. love it.
edit. ugh what a novel.. well it's friday..

Wow that's suicide MoJo! I recently tried the dirt bike on City Limits and even on the highest speed I could muster I couldn't catch up, let alone getting absolutely mullered at the start (that was my only crash there). I ended with a 6th out of 14, which must have annoyed some people who bet on me but still it's put me off the dirt bike for a while. With all those jumps, bumps, water and debris Credit Crunch is the dirt bike's kryptonite though

Uhm... Kegs, it is nice and all that stuff, but it's not the best. It's not even close.
Hollowed Earth, Colossus Canyon, Reef Runner and others are much better. They are far superior.
'Lunatics United' is pretty much Badlands in dark with some lights and campfires..
