Ive been pondering whether to pick apocalypse up again since it dropped down into a 2 for 20 pound deal. I had the game for a couple of months after launch and even though i consindered it a great spectacle n intense racer, the online was pretty sour. Funnily enough it wasnt the server issues, more the mindless players who would crush you on every corner n squeal like a stuck pig down the mic like they've done something spectacular, yet still finish below you. Granted the whole taking out of other racers is part n parcel of the game, but what im wondering iis if the amount of players who just play to ruin other people's races has whittled down since launch

Glad you're thinking about picking it up again. There are still a few die hard Apocalypsers on the game, although a lot have migrated back to Pacific Rift. In general I would say that the newbies that deliberately kill you have gone down considerably whilst I've been at university and come back for a select few weekends of gaming. You still get battered around, especially when other people have heavier vehicles, but to me it seems like less people actually press the attack/ram button now, certainly when you're next to other bikes or ATVs whilst riding one. The online still isn't very consistent - I tried some games the other day. I had a single 1v1 race (which was boring), then when I tried to join a newe game the join failed 4 times in a row. When I got a new game, of about 6-8 people, I had 5 races then disconnected. The racing is still intense, which fortunately is a good enough reason (for me) to endure the server.

Cheers for the reply. I was one of those that migrated back to pacific rift, but if the noobs have finally vacated it looks like ill give it another shot. The lack of an epic "WELCOME TO MOTORSTORM" intro n festival soundtrack still kinda grates tho

Did about 7+ hours over the weekend, in 2 sessions, with only a few disconnects. Rooms averaged about 80% full.

Ran into some pack racers, but nothing out of the ordinary.

All in all, had some very good racing.
