MS:A - Having Great Fun, since Release Day, but also a small question

Ive recently been getting back into Motorstorm Apocalypse after a few 3-player split-screen races with my friends, which have usually been great but we've ended up coming in the same places when the AI is on, so we have thought of trying to play Apocalypse (they were reluctant, and have been since release, but I think they are loosening up) and myself having been trying to play it again, and my goodness it felt refreshing, its had many races with little to no connection problems, racing against MANY lv80s (with me only reaching Lv61 yesterday) but the racing has been great all around.

However, ive noticed something, which is remarkably similar to Pacific Rift: the Dirt Bikes are yet again, seemingly overpowered compared to other vehicle classes in Online racing (I actually expected the Superbike to be the overpowered class when MSA was released, guess not then XD), almost every race ive been in, there has been a dirt bike user in first, and i remember this happening in PR as well. For anyone who still plays it, does anyone know any reason (other than favouritism, which I can understand, 2 wheels can be fun :smileytongue: ) why so many have adopted the use of the Dirt Bike once again to win every race they can, just like in PR?

Because the Dirtbike got a massive speed boost...

It is much faster now & is very easy to use.

I think that was from the After-Party update if i remember correctly, since before then the Dirt Bike was pretty much useless, but now its too good for its own good xD

The Dirtbike is my worst vehicle, along with the chopper.

I used to hate the Dirtbike with a passion... But since the update I found that I was quite good with it and it was very easy to use.

I know what you mean, I dont mind using it, its just a bit overused, but each to their own I suppose. :smileytongue:

Although I am genuinely suprised the Superbike wasnt the over powered vehicle in this game, given all the speed and amazing cornering it is capable of, and that many of the tracks the superbike can handle rather well, but it is so twitchy to any debris it can easily crash, which the dirt bike also suffers from.

Re: MS:A - Having Great Fun, since Release Day, but also a small question

When i was able to play my PS3 online, one of the first games i used was Pacific Rift and for the time i was on it, Pacific Rift online racing was dominated by irt Bikes, always at least 20 or so seconds ahead of me in the same class or other class vehicle, and in Apocalypse, since the After Party update they seem to be doing the same phenomenal feats once again, sure the bigger vehicles can tussler them around a lotharder now in Apocalypse, but when the dirt bikes get going, they are gone within seconds. One race i had in Apocalypse during this week had around 8 Lv80s, 6 of them used Dirt Bikes, and those six were always in the top whenever Dirt Bikes were avaliable, with the nearest coming at least 15-20 seconds or so behind, and that was from another Lv80 driver, only not using the Dirt Bike. I'm not a competitive type but i have noticed these trends, but i suppose its what they use best, but its just a strange thing to happen in two games in a row, almost like lightning striking twice :smileytongue:

rank =/= skill in either game, but more so in MSA

May I ask which track you were doing in Pacific Rift? cause the bike isn't as great as you make it out to be.
