I have seen a couple of major issues with MS:A (latest updates applied), and I was wondering if these are known bugs? I have a 320Gb slim refurb and I fear my console may be faulty, and causing these glitches:
The only way to get rid of these problems is to exit and reload the game.
So, are these known issues - or have you experienced them? I can live with them if they are bugs and I'm not complaining, but if it is my PS3 that is faulty, I need to think about phoning Sony as the warranty runs out in 4 weeks.

- I've only seen this on multiplayer - when selecting the vehicle model for the selected class, the image for that model is either completely corrupt or transposed
- During a race the sound effects start to mess up

There's no need to worry. I believe that these problems have been suffered by almost everyone at some point during play of MSA, and I can be 99% certain that they are game problems and have absolutely nothing to do with your PS3 (bear in mind my PS3 is original 60GB UK release day vintage and still works fine) -
1. This only occurs on multiplayer when you've been playing online for, say up to a 5x bonus pot if you weren't to lose any races or your connection. The game just seems to begin to lose recall of choices online altogether and the vehicle views just become noise.
2. I've had this happen to me online and offline, it would seem often in races where there's a lot going on and lots of racers/rubble around that the game is having trouble trying to deal with.
There's also a number 3 where multiplayer tracks become competely reversed and impossible to negotiate, or let you drop through the graphics, but hopefully this hasn't happened much to you.
Keep enjoying Motorstorm ![]()

Many thanks for your reply - it's some sort of relief to hear that it isn't just me. The graphics corruption was my main concern, although I guess if it was a hardware problem it would more likely be more random and not specifically cause this. I've certainly had it happen with a 1x bonus though, as I gave up betting my winnings as I kept losing the pot through disconnections, etc.
Hope you touched wood when writing about your PS3 60Gb
. Mine got the YLOD after just under 3 years. Perhaps the bigger shock was when the replacement 320Gb slim, that I had bought, died 6 weeks out of the warranty (Blu-ray laser failure). I guess I just get too paranoid now, although my refurb's PSU does make weird oscillating whining noises in standby
.
