I seem to have a problem with the sound coming through my turtle beach headset. Its a turtle beach for the xbox but it works fine with other games on the PS.
However when i load up MSA i get no sound through the optical cables and have to use the sound through the tv.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

I recently got Astro A40's so I have been messing around with such settings.
If you want to use the Turtle Beach through the optical cable, you have to go into settings, sound settings and then, you either have to change the audio output settings to use optical rather than HDMI/Scart/S-Video. I use HDMI so I will use that as an example.
Doing it that way, you will have to change the settings every time you want to switch between using your headset & the TV for sound, so what I have done it used the 'Audio Multi-Output' setting underneath that, what this does is enable sound to come out through TV & your headset at the same time so you can listen to either of them at any time. You just have to turn the TV down when listening through headphones & turn the headphones down/off when listening from the TV. However, when you do this the setting that is not selected in 'Audio Output Settings' is downscaled to 2Ch. (No idea what that means but maybe you do XD)
If this doesn't work then I am not sure why, maybe there are some settings on MSA that you need to play with? I haven't yet tried MSA on my new headset because I have been using it to sound w h o r e on games like CoD ![]()
Hope this helped! By the way which Turtle Beaches did you get? I only know about PX21's and they are apparently very fragile so be careful if you have them!

I have the X41's. Bought them for my xbox last year but optical is optical so they work with my new PS3 (though i wont be able to use the mic on them).
Ive already set up the PS so it plays sound through both HDMI and optical and the sound plays fine for other games such as uncharted and space marine, its just for MSA that for some reason the sound wont come through the turtle beaches.
Guess ill have to fiddle around a bit more or just play the sound through the TV.
Thanks for the input though ![]()
