Re: Motorstorm Apocalypse exploit

beats me why to use shoot the breeze on end is nigh.. you can cool down your boost on a bike on every part on that tracks fastest route enough to make a very fast time.. but we may have sooo different boost strategies on it anyway. Near the end there's this one part that gets destroyed on the last lap, if you meant that you can gain something on those two little drops.. I tested it out earlier and slow burn is still faster. But, just on my boost strategy, can't really tell for real, but we are still talking milliseconds here =)

Re: Motorstorm Apocalypse exploit

The challenge I keep trying is down to milliseconds. I have about 11 set points around the track where I know what time I need to be on to be on track for a new record. I know this track down to a tee with the supercar now. I just need to get that perfect lap in the next 2 days! :smileyfrustrated: TIME IS RUNNING OUT! BETTER GET BACK TO IT!

Re: Motorstorm Apocalypse exploit

good luck on it =) just don't overdo it then you get frustrated and then you always end up getting close but not better. Maybe try for just a millisecond different boost strategy on some part, you know, don't boost just as much and see if on the next of your 11 points you can be there a little faster. I've noticed that this way you can really find something interesting and new. On some docks track I tested it out and found I can be even a second faster while it seemed to make no sense. A little bump on the road, something that doesn't even get your car in the air can make a huge difference. So I guess it's down to experimenting.

Re: Motorstorm Apocalypse exploit

And experimenting is what I have done... A lot of! I have tried new routes, new boost strategies, everything! I miss out little bumps, use as much water as I can without slowing me down, use barrels, I boost to critical where it is best to, stop before critial when it is best to, I even went on the TA leaderboard for supercar to try to to find a better route. I then realised that I was way faster than the #1 ghost and have set a new supercar time by over a second I think. My TA time is around 1:13.80 and my Challenge time is around 1:15.24. This is because on TA you get more of a run up before the start and the boost resets over the line. I don't know if you have look on te leaderboard recently but me & belka are over a second about the 3rd place guy. We are so far ahead of everyone else that I kind of don't believe it. I am also #1 on the Monster Truck event. I had pretty much found the best route/boost strategy I just need to actually do all the sectores correctly all in one lap. Tiky said he would help me witha route/boost strategy but hasn't got round to it yet :smileyfrustrated: Hopefully he will do it on time for me to actually try it!

Re: Motorstorm Apocalypse exploit

I had a few runs on the challenges myself. I managed 1:17.2x on the supercar challenge (I think the second split is the one in which another two seconds hide). The Monster Truck challenge shouldn't be too hard if it weren't for the AI. I gave up on that. Shame, Rising Damp is one of best/favourite tracks :smileysad: (And the MT my least favourite vehicle ... xD).

I still can't stand last week's Skyline Mudplugger! I did 3:17.x on that, which is good enough for first place, but it didn't upload!

Re: Motorstorm Apocalypse exploit

Jerony it is all about the right route on the first challenge. You have to use as much of the wood/concrete as you can without taking a massively longer route. I think I have pretty much got the line perfected, I have a ghost of it at #1 on TA if you want to check it out but please don't beat me on the weekly! I also have a video of a 1.15.74 in which I take the same route just I didn't use the barrels for cooling.

I guess you're probably aware of it, but there is a possible route between the two ships at the first corner to make a quicker entry into the tighter of the two turns.  In a supercar, it's v. difficult to get right without losing too much speed, and it's probably suicidal in a race.  I'm not even sure it's overall faster than just taking the longer loop at the first corner, but I'm not consistent enough on the rest of the track to get to a conclusion one way or another, or to post any sort of decent time to prove it's a feasible option.  Might be worth a look at if you haven't already tried and discarded it.

Re: Motorstorm Apocalypse exploit

I have tried and discarded it already. I have tried pretty much every possible route in order to try and cut down every last millisecond. It does seem to be (maybe) slightly faster if you can get it perfect but then you have what I would consider to be the slower route (I take the left route). I have also tried doing that through the ships and then crossing over to the preferred route but it is hard to get it right and then to get the rest of the route perfect too is very hard. I have tried everything, 50 different routes, 50 different routes, I just need to get the lap perfect in the next 22 1/2 hours or I will come 2nd! :smileysad:
