Ok so let's have fun speculating about what is possible and what is not or just what you would like to see being made with the (hopefully) coming Mode Creator.
I'll start.
Crash or Burn - You'll get a point if you wreck someone, you will also lose a point if you get wrecked. Also you will lose a point if you reset your car. 3 Laps. First three to finish will get an additional 3, 2 and 1 points. Last three will get the same but -3, -2 and -1 points. So what this means is that you would have to balance out everything to be able to win the whole match. It could be like first to 15 points wins the whole Cup, no matter how many races this would take. You could try and wreck alot on one race and just be superfast on the next etc. to try and collect the points needed.
NSC Mode - No resets, you will get disqualified for pushing the select button. If you get wrecked that does not disqualify you. I think this could be extremely fun with a full lobby and make for some crazy situations =)
HardcoreStorm - Put a hell of a lot of crazies on the tracks on key parts, like if you take the fastest route there will be so much crazies fire etc. bombs flying that you will not get through so fast, making it worthwhile to maybe choose an alternate route even though it is longer. You could risk the shortest route if you think you can make it through fast enough (with a rig or other slower vehicle and the armor perk perhaps), or just take it safe with a faster vehicle through the longer route.
Anyways, here's my first three modes that I thought of, tell me what's yours =)

Limited Stock - Depending on the number of players the number of vehicles is limited of a particular class. (For example one Race will only allow one dirtbike, but four monster trucks) -Players take in turns to pick they desired class and this is calculated by the previous race results. (Last Player picks first, First player to finish picks last)
Quick on your feet - Routes are blocked off (Via Barriers) and change every lap.
Headstart - Depending on your rank, your start is delayed. (Levels one -five have no delay, level six to ten are delayed by half a second, and so on.)
Clone Race - Everyone has the same Driver, Car, Livery. (Random; determined by server, picks one players driver, and their car, along with livery. Also, Players names are turned off and no-one know who's who. (This is so players can wreck others without getting a "GRRRR WHY U DO THAT!?" message.) Betting is still turned on, but you will not know if you have lost/won the bet until you finish the race.
It's in your hands - One (Random) player picks up to 5 vehicle classes, whist another (Random) player chooses one of five tracks. (Headsets will be turned off until race starts) Players will not know what track it is until they start the race. Players will not know who picked the classes/track, unless they come first (like a form of prize lol) and can pick either who picked the classes OR who picked the track to be revealed to themselves.
Stuntstorm - Players with the most points at the end of a 3 lap race wins. (Drift/Air/Wreck/)
Endurance -Extended Races. Races are 5 to 6 lap races.
ULTRA Endurance - 10 Lap Races.
No need to boost - Boost will not cool down. Resets every lap.
Ghost Race - Players cannot collide with each other. (Much like trackmania, lol)
Reaper - One Player becomes Murete, (Driver, Livery) and they goal is to wreck 1/3 of the players. If they succeed, they win that race. (Not sure if everyone else should become Dice, lol)
Cheater - One random player becomes 'ULTRA' -and has double boost capacity, (and higher boost cool down) small speed increase, Better Handling. If 'legit' Racers finish the race before the cheater does, they receive double exp. At the end of the race, Players bet who they thought they was the cheater, and if they guess correctly, the betting chips are doubled. If Players guess the Cheater AND Beat them, they receive a x4 exp boost. (for that race. only. -The exp boost only boosts Air/Wreck/Drift points only. Regular betting is turned off. -Cheaters times are not recorded onto the server.)

Some nice ideas there guys! I especially like Crash or Burn (where wrecking is encouraged, but you still need to keep racing!) & Limited Stock.
One idea I've been toying with (and I doubt the Mode Editor will give us this much power, but who knows) would be what I like to call, Hot Potato.
Hot Potato - Every 15 seconds (LET ME FINISH), the player coming first becomes marked. Much like an Eliminator race, the marked player's car will be destroyed when the timer hits 0, but unlike in Eliminator, he will not be disqualified. To unmark his car, the marked player simply needs to make contact with someone else's car - this will transfer the mark, but the timer will not reset. Much like a game of Hot Potato, drivers will ram into each other continually in order to make sure they're not the one holding the mark when the timer hits 0. Aim of the game is simply to place as high as you can, there are no other points.
What it achieves:
-There is now an incentive for veteran stormers not to blitz ahead of the pack. If you do so, you will have your car destroyed every 15 seconds - that is until, everyone else catches up. So in a sense, it somewhat evens the playing field.
-Following on from above, it encourages racers to race as a pack, as one sees in cycling. "What's so good about cycling?" I hear you ask, but think about it. Everyone racing together = more Motorstorm action. Pluggers getting flipped by Big Rigs and crushing ATVs behind them, Monster Trucks steamrolling Buggies - this is what separates Motorstorm from your other racing games.
-Pack racing also means that more players can experience the incidents on each track, and with more racers around them. This is another thing that peeves me about MS:A - in a regular race, only the best racers can experience those epic destruction moments when the road tears out from underneath them, or buildings crumble in their wake. When the guy coming first is forced to ease off the accelerator and let others catch up to him, more people will get to experience those incidents which I feel truly define MS:A.
-Players are not disqualified when their car is destroyed. As much as I personally love Eliminator, I feel this is why no one plays it. In Eliminator, the unskilled are lucky to experience a minute of racing per track, and afterwards are forced to watch someone much better than them racing for another couple minutes. This doesn't happen in Hot Potato.
Keep the ideas coming guys! Who knows, maybe Evo will take notice of this thread.

As much as it couldn't happen on most tracks...I'd love a Kamikaze mode, like that featured in Crash 'n' Burn.
The grid is halfed, and on group drive normally, whilst the other group drive the track in reverse.
It was always alot more strategic than is seemed, did you take out the people on your group, to get first, or would you wait, till all those infront colided, and just drive on through hoping they all wrecked.

I hope they make that mode creator a big thing so that you can implement ALL of the above mentioned ideas. Hope they do cuss those are some awesome idea's that I would love to do online/offline anytime.

Destruction Derby
He who gets the most wrecks within unlimited laps of any track wins.
Last place racer gets eliminated after everyone else passes the finish line. Those who are eliminated keeps their number of wrecks at the time of elimination.
Those who are eliminated adds to the wreck total of the first place individual who finished that lap. (But remember everyone else must finish in order to eliminate last place.)
You have a total of 5 or 10 minutes before the match ends.
