Speaking of drivers - I absolutely hate the choice we get. There are not enough female characters, and most of them are just bad-looking. I want DLC with extra drivers. Who cares about the cars? We already have plenty of them.

Tracks with jumps a-plenty and little water - Hot Rod, ....the Breeze (can't remember the start), Armour
Tracks with more puddles or water - Hot Rod, Aquatic, Armour or Immovable
I also use a perk set-up with Aerodynamic, Slow Burn and Immovable but slow burn doesn't seem to really change the boost that much. I would much rather have it cool quickly to use it instantly rather than use it all in one go, but maybe that's because a lot of the vehicles I use have a low top speed

I agree with that. I had a great female driver on MSPR but I’m not so taken with the one I’ve got now.
Perks - Always use the same accelerate, quick cool, immovable. Apart from Waves then swap the water cool. Never comes up though.

I generally use Hot Rod (improved acceleration), Slow Burn (longer boost time) and Armoured (take more damage before wrecking)
I find the latter the most useful, as I used to wreck all the time by clipping scenery when trying to take corners as close as possible, or from being battered about by other racers. I'm tempted to create an ATV-specific build with the increased grip perk though.
As for drivers, got to be Muerte, he looks so badass on the choppers, less so on a dirt bike/ATV though...

the old hot rod and slow burn, occaisionaly swapping for aquatic and shoot the breeze where need be.
And then critical strike, always.
It can get you out of many a situation at max boost, some pridicaments you cant even see coming.
For instance yesterday, racing on dock of the bay me and another driver wanted to go under the container before the hairpin, catching him in a rally car I knew we wouldnt both fit and as it was a friend didnt want to nudge him either, so took the ramp to the right, flew through the air and almost hit the ramp to the left that leads up to the roof and wouldve crunched it side on if not for a well timed slam.
It helps well on mainlining when your rally car is usually going far too fast on that tunnel entrance after the water, and it wont get back inline for toffee.

slamming coming into the tunnel is a good way indeed, but do you really need to use that perk just for that? doesn't take so much boost out of you if you don't have it. Although if you use it a lot more then it's good.
I usually have better acceleration, slow burn and armour, changing the slow burn for up and away on skyline tracks. When I got the game I used a lot of aquatic on boardwalk but figured out that it's not worth it, at least back then it seemed to do not that much of a difference, but I think I have to experiment again.
oh and for credit crunch, faster cooldown.
