Now that I would agree with.

Wrecking is a bit of an art form in this iteration. No longer can you just push someone in to a wall to register a wreck. You actually have to use the ram button. Because you can only ram left or right you must put yourself in a position where you too could be rammed which adds a nice but if peril to the equation.

Whether the fastest stormers are the best stormers is another question entirely.

nah i know what you mean, that some of the faster people may panick when someone gets along side them and starts grindin, but the majority of the fastest will pick up on the rival early and have ram prepared before they can even considering attacking (if they are first they have the advantage)

Hot-Wire i have to disagree. I race cleanly and do not have a single wreck and i win more races than i lose. As you said in your comment, i usually am too far ahead for anybody to ram me, its just during the first few corners you get guys in bigger vehicles ramming you when they are incredibly slow and have no chance of beating me even if they wreck me 10 times during the race. If someone is fighting for position (that they can possibly keep) then fair enough, but when they are never going to beat me anyway then whats the point?

GTP_scaramanga OR i could just continue playing this game as i rarely get wrecked anyway, i just hate it when i do occasionally get wrecked by someone that is never going to beat me anyway.

It's alright traxxas it was only a joke.

It does make me laugh when people talk about clean racing in an arcade game that positively encourages ramming and wrecking.

And dont forget, you unlock parts for wrecking so chances are, if I wreck you it is nit because I think that is the only way I can beat you but more likely that I am trying to 100% my vehicles.

Wait, what is there to disagree?  I only said that racing dirty is part of the game and that is incredibly evident by the perks provided in the game, plus the dev interviews.  And people who like to wreck aren't necessarily horrible..  I was a gold legend in Pacific Rift and was top 100 on the North American leaderboards when I played.  Of course most of that was done by driving clean, but if the opportunity came up (And it does MANY times when you race with opponents of similar skill level), you bet I'll be punching you off of your bike, or ramming you off of the track, if I knew the person next to me to be pretty good at the game.

Wrecking the opponent in Pacific Rift did two things.

1. Removed the immediate threat next to me.

2. Mess with the other guys mind.  All of a sudden it ain't about winning anymore, but getting revenge, which causes carelessness.

Of course choosing to wreck someone would slightly slow myself down, but sometimes it is worth getting rid of that one guy that can actually pose a challenge.

Hot-Wire you said you would not question someones skill if they ram. I would. If a player is confident enough in his/her own abilities then they should not have to ram others in order to beat them. I have not wrecked a single person using the ram feature on this game and i know ur gunna say im being cocky and watever AGAIN but i DO win more often than i dont win. I dont need to wreck people because i know the tracks, know the quick routes and find a way of catching up to most people. Wreck if u want to, i just dont see the need if ur any good.

I prefer to race cleanly, especially with friends, but i always like to give people a nudge to mess with thier head. More psychological tactics, as all too often ive seen people try to take me out and put themselves in a worse position.
