Need for Speed

Hi All,

Pretty simple question. I have never played a Need for Speed game and my question is this. If i buy one, should i buy Hot Pursuit, Shift 2 or wait for Run? I don't have a lot of money, and i don't think i can afford or would want to buy sequel after sequel for one franchise. Hot Pursuit seems like the better game going by reviews etc. It's a 2010 game which is even better. I buy anf play older game anyway and it's more affordable. However, its multiplayer may soon be superceded by the more recent  sequel and this is an issue for a non-split screen racing game. Advice?

It kind of depends on the type of racing game you like. If it's arcade-style racing, then get Hot Pursuit over Shift 1 or 2, which are more racing sims than arcade. Personally, I prefer HP to Shift - I've played and traded both Shift 1 & 2, but kept HP, as it's such a blast to play.

Can't really comment on The Run yet. Not really sure about it.

Word of warning, if you buy HP or Shift 2 preowned, you'll need to buy the online pass if you want to play the multiplayer online for any length of time. (Online pass comes with the game if you buy it new)

There are still people online playing HP. One of the guys on my friends list has logged over 300 hours in the game...

yea HP is still very popular and to me is much better over shift 1 n 2 i traded both those in within a week of purchase if you want a decent racing sim your better off with GRID i think.

plus HP has some great game modes like interceptor where one person is a racer and the other is a cop and u play cat and mouse all over the map its always good fun. and the races are very fast

I hated both the Shifts, the only recent NFS game that I'd reccomend is HP.

I am the opposite, I didn't really like Hot Pursuit or Shift 1 but I love Shift 2 Yes, I am weird.
