Disgaea 3 Confuses me

[ Edited ]

So I got Disgaea 3 today. Never played anything from the series before. I reached chapter 2, & lost an impossible to win fight again my nemesis. Credits rolled...

I thought maybe I was suppose to lose as it was too hard. Am I just suppose to grind through 2 tutorial levels again & again until I can beat the nemesis girl?  I don't see any other people to fight. Seems a bit lame if that is the case.

The whole classroom thing just confuses me to. Am I right in thinking you never leave the school? I thought it would be like most RPG games were you travel around the world & grinding to level up.

Re: Disgaea 3 Confuses me

Confused as hell myself , you say second chapter? Was it a Raspberyl fight? Think you do lose it then just begin grinding.
Slightly complicated game but I'am enjoying it :smileyhappy:
Keep grinding grinding , using mana to get stronger special attacks :smileyhappy:

So I'm just grinding the first 2-3 tutorial levels then? I thought I was missing something. No one else hanging about looking to fight?

Yup I think you just grind in the chapter :smileyhappy:

Losing to Raspberyl in either chapter 1 or 2 will lead to one of the game's multiple endings. There is definitely more to the game than what you have seen, but the main theme of the game is school and you never really leave it since the entire netherworld where the game is set is the "school".

I haven't got too far into Disgaea 3 on Vita (blame another addictive SRPG called Tactics Ogre XD), but I've completed the PS3 version and one of the unique things about Disgaea is that levels really don't make that big of a difference compared to the benefits you'll get from equipment.

Once you unlock access to the item world you'll be able to strengthen your equipment further and it's also a good place to grind, though you don't need to worry about grinding too much for the story mode portion of the game.

At such an early stage in the game all I can suggest is ganging up on your enemies one by one and luring your enemies towards you rather than moving towards them as your characters are really fragile, especially in a boss fight like the one you described above.

Re: Disgaea 3 Confuses me

i have played a lot of disgaea.

takes some time to get used to.

don't rush through the story, there is tonnes of stuff to do.

Item world (go inside items, make them better. rings and seals and dark rosary's are good to start)
Class world (go inside personnel, and make them better)

there are lots of other worlds and places to visit and unlock.

do not be afraid to re- incarnate. this makes you much stronger. much.

you can create characters of such awesome power.

oh. read all of the digital manual. then read it again.

I don't know how the item world works. Too me it just seems like a place to store things.

Update: Somehow I managed to get to another world in the item world haha, now I'm fighting round after round of guys which never seems to end. I'm gonna have to read the book.

Don't think I'm gonna bother with the classroom, I'm just gonna grind everyone. I miss the days of FF were things were simpler haha.

The game is starting to unveil more to me now! After beating some guys, I can now create new characters!!

Re: Disgaea 3 Confuses me

Reading the manual didn't help much. I take it the whole classroom thing isn't essential? Apart from recruiting new people, I'm gonna skip the rest.

Still don't know why in the warehouse, they label all the stage fights as items. I thought I would be able to pick them up & equip them.

I did manage to reach chapter 2 :smileyvery-happy:

Re: Disgaea 3 Confuses me

stick with it.

worth it when you are dealing 100,000+ damage

my mages have been reincarnated to prism class and are dealing at least 20,000

the classroom is essential to see more of the game, you can pass motions to unlock stuff, also pay attention to the clubs in the classes.
