New to PS Vita - Game Advice Please...

So as the title says,

I've just got a playstation vita and would like some game recommendations as to what to get first.

I got the Vita yesterday and dont yet have a memory card till tomorrow.

Am torn between which of the following to buy,

1. Uncharted

2. Unit 13

3. Ridge Racer

4. F1 2011

I enjoy playing uncharted on the PS3 and have heard its good on the vita.

Also do you need a memory card to play the games, i understand they wont save but will i be able to play them at least till i get this?

If you're a fan of Uncharted on the PS3 you'll love it on the Vita.  That's your first buy.

Then it all depends on what kind of other games you like, but I can recommend either Ridge Racer or Unit 13.

Ridge Racer is an involving game.  You need to put the hours in to get the rewards out, but you can ignore all this "it only has 3 tracks and 5 cars" schpeel.  There are presently 8 tracks available (4 forward and 4 reverse modes - which honestly completely change the feel and difficulty of the track) and I now have 11 cars in my garage.  There are more tracks and cars on the way.  The game can be had from around £15, so even if you have to pay a fiver or so more for downloads of new tracks and cars it's worth it.  The game has plenty to do and should keep you entertained for many, many hours.  BUT, you may go through the odd dry spell where you'll play without achieving any significant upgrades for a while, which can be a bit frustrating.  Overall, if you want something different from Uncharted then Ridge Racer (or Wipeout 2049) is a great bet.

Unit 13 is surprisingly fun and also packs loads of gameplay content, but it's more similar in gameplay mechanics to Uncharted than a racer is.  So, if you want to try something completely different go with Ridge Racer or Wipeout, but if you love first and third person shooters stick with Unit 13 as it won't dissapoint.

And buy at least an 8GB memory card unless you want to keep having to carry and swap cards over in the future (with the prospect of losing them as they're so small).  I got a 16GB and I'm very pleased I did.  DLC that is needed for my two card based games, the download of 4 full games from the Playstation Store, plus download of 10 demo games and 2 movies leaves 3GB left on my 16GB card.

Have fun whatever you decide.  :smileyvery-happy:

Out of the choice there; Buy Uncharted on a cartridge!

Instead of Ridge Racer, you'd be infinitely better with WipEout 2048! It's probably the best WipEout game yet and a racing game fit for the Vita without a doubt! It's much more friendly than it's predecessors and easier to get into, and not very space hungry on your Memory Card :smileywink:
