PS One Classics?

I'm aware that Sony plan to make PS One classics available on the PS Vita through the Firmware 1.8 update and that this update is going to be released during the summer. Does anyone know of a more specific time frame for this update? Saying its coming in the summer could be anytime between now and the beginning of September. I will be happy with simply knowing that it will be out sometime in a certain month, if the aim is for sometime in August then tell us its coming August.

no specific time at the moment, they are very hush hush about the timing past the standard "it will be availible this summer"

Sony are stabbing their loyal family customers in the back - We have 3 PS3s and 3 PSPs all on the same IP address and all registered with Sony. Why can't we use them at the same time anymore?

I wouldn't be surprised if it gets delayed... ...i saw one article about week ago and it said it's coming within a COUPLE OF MONTHS to Japan first and then to Europe and US. Seriously, couple of months and not weeks?!? Oh, it's gonna be a loooong wait if it turns out to be true. Don't remember where i saw that article, i was just browsing google.

Re: PS One Classics?

Judging by that they do actually mean the end of summer then :smileysad: this waiting is ridiculous, its something they have been promising since its launch, as far as I'm concerned its something that should have been available from launch especially as remote play was non existent for PS3 games.

Re: PS One Classics?

I agree about the launch support... ...and i really do hope that once we get the 1.8 firmware update, we will see wide selection of psone classics being supported and not just a couple of games (as there's been rumors about it). So it would be extra ridiculous if we have to wait for months just to get couple of supported games for a start. Reason for this long wait must be that Sony don't have much resources on this matter or that emulating psone classics on Vita turned to be a really pain in the ass. PS Vita's architecture must be much more complicated than on PSP and that is why it takes time.

Re: PS One Classics?

The psone classics will apparently be rolled out over time for the vita so would probably take a while for a wide selection to be available but if they have been purchased before they wont have to be purchased again.
A lot of sources are stating that this is what a sony representative has told them.

Agree Ps1 games should have been their from launch.

Remote games with PS3 games was never promised it was what they hoped for when they showed of the tech demo to many people took that as a promis that it was coming.

Shows like E3 get tech and stuff shown all the time and it never makes it for one reasion or anther.

The Tech show is the disclaimer it may not happen.

Like I said it is what they hoped for but for what ever resion is they can't/won't do it now.

But TBH PS3/Vita conectivity needs to be adressed, See friends what they are playing on each platfrom and message and picture needs to be sorted .

8 months after Vita's Jap releease and when on Ps3 I can't see what my friends are playing on Vita.

I can't send pictures from my Vita to Ps3.

Re: PS One Classics?

considering that this is just being regarded as rumour, I'm going to continue to hold hope that the psn maintanence that is planned between this Thurs 4pm BST and Fri 8am BST is to make the necessary changes to the store for the PS One classics with the firmware update available over the weekend, fingers crossed! Thanks for the update.
