Hello there PS members. I've been wondering about getting an imported copy of Persona 4 The Golden. But there's something that bugs me about it. Alright, we all know its an Japanese kind of game, which i am not that big fan of. I checked the reviews and stuff, and idk. The art is 100% Japanese, and the characters also.
Now i have Gravity Rush (which is awesome). Im kinda looking for a game that is similar to Gravity Rush. I mean like art and stuff. In Gravity Rush, there wasn't that much of Japanese elements. It did have cutscenes, which to me didn't seem to be near any Japanes game at all. Sure the character were and everything else. But there's something about it which i love.
Persona 4 on the other hand, is 100% Japanese. Which i am not that big fan of. The characters look like manga characters and the visuals also.
I want to get Persona 4, is because i want an long lasting game. And i want to try out the RPG genre for the first time.
So yeah, any advices?
Well two things before buying an import: is it cheaper because P4 is only round the corner some offer it for as low as £27 for pre-ordering. Secondly I doubt it will be relevant but imports can't be patched without the support PSN domain such as US or JP etc.
But with that out the way with Vita I've been playing P3 and it's a good game. It is extremely japanese in artwork but the script is tasteful and characters good. P4 if I know correctly will retain all the cutscenes, best to check with the US reviews though. It will certainly give u a lot of content as there will be a second character to choose which further enhances replayability partly down to relationships and dialogue choices, something which matter in P4.
The only one thing to warn u about the game is that it uses turn-based combat. I'm not fond of such systems but with Persona it is cemented really well. There is a quick pace and your persona's can be fused and levelled up for more powers giving a good variety in combat. Also the last thing to note is that you obviously won't always be grinding through maps rather your day is split up in to day and night, socialising and living a normal day and then going in to comabt 'after-school'. For first timers as well it isn't complicated at all, there is substantial explanation and P4 will have 3D free roam rather than P3's 2D map and a cursor.
Its up to u about importing it, but if u wait for the EU version I'd advise considering a pre-order as people are blood-thristy about Persona 4 and one can never predict how the market will pan out in terms of stock and if u are looking a good price also.
About importing it: I know a site that is made in my country. And they do have imported copies, so no worries. Im just wondering what's so great about this game and is it worth it?
I have the PS2 version but I loved it so much I pre-ordered the P4G today. I'm a huge RPG fan and as long as the gameplay and the story are good I don't care where they come from. The Persona series is one of my favouries because for me it ticks all the boxes :)
The EU version will be exactly the same as the US version, if I remember correctly. I cant find the article where I read it. EU wont get the solid gold edition though. I'm waiting for 22 February and hoping that it will be available on the South African store.
I recommend buying it as it was a great game on PS2 and can only be better on the VITA with all the added content :smileyvery-happy:
I imported mine from the USA. Same version, don't have to wait 6 extra months or however long it's been.
I already got my imported copy a week ago :D
It's totally awesome and i can get soaked into this easily for many hours.
