Does anyone understand how they work?

Take the green totem.  Sometimes almost every time I line up three green gems it activates, other times I can do it three or four times in quick succession and it STILL doesn't activate.

It feels rigged, as when I had the green totem and the profit crystals bonus activated - the green totom refused to activate at all through the whole game.  I clearly triggering it several times, I even saw the animation activating in the corner of my eye but it never released any crystals.  That was the only game where it never activated at all, a game where it would have been hugely beneficial due to the bonus and a game where I deliberately were prioritising green gems.

Its just annoying, what is the point of having these bonuses if they activate in such a random fashion?

u need to hit 2 green sets in a row for it to work

i like the green crystal bonus tbh handy for topping up

That's what I suspected, but I'm sure it doesn't always work and sometimes it WILL trigger without doing that.

It's odd how most of my highest scores have come when I have no crystals and so no bonuses or totems active !! Very strange indeed but they do seem to be very hit and miss I agree.

Getting two greens in a row does seem to work. 

I think the problem is that sometimes as you are doing the second one the impact of the first one causes a different combo to trigger, so you do not get to do two consecutive greens after all.  Often it happens so quickly you do not notice as you are focusing on doing that second one.

It works for me, two greens YOU have to activate.
