Treasure Park for PS Vita

Yesterday's announcement of a free puzzle game for the PS Vita has got me rather more excited than it probably has any right to. It just looks like exactly the kind of thing I thrive on - a logic puzzle thing, with the ability to create your own puzzles to share with friends.

Details are scarce for this game 'to be released in the summer', so I did some snooping and found some images on the US PlayStation blog's flickr site and I'm trying to piece together how the game works... Everything here is my conjecture. :smileyhappy:

It looks like an elaborate version of minesweeper, possibly where the aim is to score highly rather than to find every bomb.

Here we see what appears to be the creation of a puzzle - you get to drag four different collections of objects (and presumably rotate them) on to a small grid of random colours.

There are gemstones, coins, traps and bombs. Gems and coins add to your score, bombs and mines subtract from it.

When you're trying to solve a puzzle, the game provides hints by telling you what colour of square some of the objects are on, and how the groups are arranged. Clearly, clicking on green, orange or yellow squares comes with a certain amount of risk in this puzzle!

It looks like you click on a tile and the game will reveal what's on the tile, and will also tell you whether the four tiles on adjoining sides are empty or contain something.

Use this information to deduce which tiles conceal treasure and which traps, and go collect some points.

It also looks like you get a limited number of turns in which to score as highly as possible.

Heaven knows how the co-operative mode plays out!

will there be trophies for these apps similar to welcome pack?

Re: Treasure Park for PS Vita

Paint park definitely doesn't include any trophies. No idea on the other two announced apps but I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Re: Treasure Park for PS Vita

A funny thing I noticed was that there are apps that have no trophies, but if you press and hold on the app (as if you are going to delete it) and press the information tab. One of the headings says "Trophy earning - Eligible".
So does this mean that the ability to earn trophies may be a possibility on apps that don't have trophies available now?

Interesting. I would love to have some sort of online component added where you maybe have some sort of leaderboards for your drawing and compete daily to place in the top 3 and then also earn trophies that way.

Stated along with the anouncement for the three apps. it's already out in Japan so the trophy list for Wake-Up Club is known (1 gold, 3 silver & 8 bronze trophies from ps3t.org).
