Re: £229.99 or £279.99 PS Vita

i wish that we could have it at the exchange rate of the US ones, it would mean that we pay £185-£225 for the PSVita but we have to pay £229.99-£279.99 which is almost double the amount US has to pay

Re: £229.99 or £279.99 PS Vita

i think that they will do amazingly well with this product, the PSP outsold the 3DS even though it was like 4 years old, sony has a huge fan base

You could wait till shortly after launch. Like the 3DS, this won't sell as much as Sony want it to. Retailers will overstock and then realise they need to get rid.

We're seeing it with the 3DS, that RRPs at like £230, but places like Amazon are selling it for £160 brand new! You can thank the 59p phone game generation for that. The masses no longer want dedicated handheld gaming devices, it could be the best handheld ever made with the best games, but I think this is the last generation we'll have dedicated handheld game systems for mass market.

Its funny.... I spent a couple of hours looking through shed loads of games on the App Store to download on my new iPhone 4... i wanted a couple decent games (not piddly time fillers like angry birds.. but proper, real, games - im a gamer. A PlayStation gamer). and after 2+ hours and spending over a tenner (not alot I know, but it is for an app store browsing session!) I was very dissappointed.

I don't care what anyone says, the iPhone is NOT a gaming platform worthy of competition to the 3DS and certainly not the PSP (or Vita).

AngryBirds and the like of these 'casual games' are so piddly, they lack quality, depth, and just dont cut it. I understand why people like them and their popularity with the masses, but seriously, I couldnt find a decent game that was nice to play.

For those interested, I ended up buying;

Sonic 1

Sonic 2 - now THESE are my 'casual' games, love racing through the first few acts

Mortal Kombat 3 - awful controls

Street Fighter 4 - a little fiddley, but pretty good.

Assassins Creed - fiddly Dpad

Great Little War Game - this is great fun, but its still a soft-core game.

Hit Tennis - meh

CC Soccer - meh

Simpsons Arcade - gets a bit boring/repetative

Fragger - crap

Overall I find the screen small, controls for the majority fiddly (i am not a 'new' iPhone user btw so its not that im new to all this touch milarkey, ive had an iPhone since 2007)

So if what you've said becomes reality (this being the last gen of dedicated portable consoles..) I find that a very sad prospect. Cos atm.... the GAMING experience just doesn't compare.

Anyone disagree with this and have any quality games to recommend I try out to prove me wrong? lol. My ears are all open!
