You will be waiting forever then because Sony memory is ALWAYS more expensive because there are less devices using it, so they sell less of them, thus they have to make more money on each sold.

For example look at Memory Stick Pro Duo / M2 card prices.  An 8GB is still around £17, you can get a 32GB microSD Class 4 for that price.  If you look at the RRP they are more comparable between the two, but retailers sell SD far below their RRP because they are more popular.

Its all about economies of scale, the larger the market for your device, the higher volumes you can manufacture them in and thus they cost less make.  Its a double whammy as also the greater the number you are expecting to sell, the less money you can afford to make on each sold.

I guess you might argue that being the sole manufacturer they are compensating compared to SD where everyone and their grandmother makes them.  But I suspect this is still not enough to compensate because the sheer vast number of devices using SD will outweigh the number of Vitas out there by an insanely large number.

Try this link for PlanetAxel.com:-

32Gb card for £62.98 including shipping and handling. Being in Holland there shouldn't be any surprise charges.

In which case you were very unlucky. I have been using them for almost ten years now and have ordered loads of games and accessories as well as a number of home and portable consoles and never once had to pay import tax.

Order 32gb and headphones from videogamesplus and did not pay tax. They did mark that the item was worth $18 though.

It only took 4 or 5 five days to arrive and that included the weekend.

Re: 32GB Memory Cards On Sale For £62.26 Shipped For A Limited Time.

[ Edited ]

Apparently thee is no tax, I just checked the checkout price.  Though there is a delivery fee of $7.49 ontop of the $89.99 (limited price, actual price $99.99) which makes it $97.48, which according to xe.com makes it around £61.90, not £62.26.  So really it is in fact cheaper than the OP had stated.  However, the site zat posted is £59.97 + £3.01 Shipping which makes it £62.98 which of course means that the Canadian site is in fact cheaper still.

Also, when I checked the checkout for the site zat posted I received this notice:

Please note that we do not offer British Pounds as a payment currency. Please choose one of the following payment currencies we offer in order to complete your purchase: USD or CAD.

So to me that just shows it doesn't even support EU even though it has its own EU and GBP conversion.  And to top things off, when I selected USD and converted it via xe.com it was even more!  According to xe.com it was £64.89 for USD and I even tried CAD which worked out at £65.39.  So basically the OP's link is still better.

Also, I'd like to note that the site known as 365games, which was mentioned by eON, is not only overpriced at £66.99, not £62.99 as originally stated, but is also untrustworthy.  I ordered a PSP game from them and accidentally put the wrong postcode and only realised after the game was sent out.  I tried contacting the company and was informed there was no tracking number supplied but they had attached a return address.  I asked if they could resend it rather than refund and they refused my request.  They told me they would refund me if the game returned to them and it never did.  This makes me think that there was no return address added and they still haven't refunded my money and have removed the game from their website completely!
