3g version vodafone locked?

Tried looking but couldn't find this, is the ps vita only available for vodafone networks or can I use a 3g sim from my virgin?  I'm not exactly a fan of vodafone at all so I'd just stick to wifi if they don't have the option of other sims.  Is there any more info about this?

No it's not locked. Vodafone are Sony's preferred partner in certain countries including the UK. That said you're free to go with any 3G carrier that supports the Vita and has data plans that work on it. The 3G in the Vita is unlocked.

You can always do what most people are doing by using their vodafone sim card for 1 month with a £5 top up to get Wipeout 2048 for free, then switch to their favourite provider.

That's what may well do. If I can find a better data plan then I will use Vodafone initially to get the free Wipeout and then switch.

oh good, well at least then I can use a virgin sim card then.  The wipeout seems tempting I might do that.
