Well I get my replacement tomorrow and I shall be posting the results here as soon as it arrives, good or bad lol. I really hope I get a good screen this time. Please let me know how your second one is too.

I couldn't get a replacement. They sold out! Got to wait for a new delivery :-(

Whaat?? That's terrible. Retailers should have some stock aside for exchanges of a product like this!

My replacement just arrived and is sitting boxed up on my floor. I'm going to make coffee and then I'm going to carefully open it and set it all up and compare it to the old screen.

Wel...... (seriously touches wood) ..... so far so good.

Screen looks perfect and everything seems okay. Just doing a restore from the backup of my old one now. 

Does anyone know the web address for the Sony site where you can activate and deactivate consoles?

lol now content manager will not work and will not restore. Says it can't find my computer lol

Why can't Sony make anything that works?

First of all activation is done on the system. Hopefully you deactivated your last vita before returning it. Go to settings>playstation network>activation. Sign in with your password etc then change game and video to activated. Then try a system restore. To be honest just stick your memory card in from before and re do the intro setup. Everything will be there as before

Also perform a system update on the vita before trying to restore as this will most likely remedy the issue.

Playing my vita now and the screen seems perfect. Damn daylight making the lines go away. I do think you will have dark patches but you won't notice a small quantity of them until you play in the dark (if you ever do lol).
