Re: Active Shutter 3D In The Works?

".I much prefer my 1080P Samsung bluetooth 6900D 50" active 3D"

What software / drivers are you using for 1080p stereo 3D on your PC? As you are using a 3DTV the only options to my knowledge are 3DTV Play, IZ3D and Tridef. None of which support full 1080P 3D for 3DTV's. SBS format at 1080p is not 1080p stereo 3D.

Re: Active Shutter 3D In The Works?

1080P is 1920 × 1080 resolution I believe, so if you play any game in the resolution or higher using TriDef ect... you'll be playing in 1080P.

If you monitor doesn't support that resolution then it's probably not a 1080P monitor.

No offence but I do not think you understood my comment. 3DTV sets (not monitors) support 3D over HDMI. Currently, or at least to my knowledge, neither HDMI or any of the 3D PC drivers / softeware support
gaming at 1080p@60h in stereo 3D even if your TV set did.

I was interested to hear what the poster was using or if he had mistaken 1080p SBS format on his PC for actual 1080p 3D @60h.... There is a big difference!

Re: Active Shutter 3D In The Works?

However 1080p SBS would still likely be better quality than the PS3, due to the fact many games are sub-720p before being shoehorned into 3D, which generally means dropping the graphics even further.

The only game I have seen that looks half decent in 3D is Sonic Generations.  Even then, the fast movement is deterimental to the 3D effect.

I was REALLY disappointed in GT5 in 3D, I thought it looked crap.

I only wish I could figure out how to get TriDef to work properly on my PC, it never seems to work when I try.

On the other hand, 3D on the 3DS looks awesome - until your hands cramp and you lose the 3D sweet spot.  But I ALWAYS play my 3DS with 3D on, especially Mario Kart.

Re: Active Shutter 3D In The Works?

No, I am using 1680 x 1050 120mhz for 3D on my PC via my Viewsonic TFT. I use my Samsung plasma for movies.

Sorry if it came across confusing.

Re: Active Shutter 3D In The Works?

I've found 3D tv's to pretty poor in general. However 3D DLP projectors have all been pretty spot on. Can be bought for £750...probably cheaper now.

Zero ghosting, flawless picture...and because your looking at 100" plus of screen the depth is astounding.

Unfortunately at that size ANY graphical glitch and jaggies are quite pronounced.

Depending on the gameplay it can be forgiven. Pretty much ALL the HD remakes look awesome.

but for me the best has to be Arkham City....it's beautiful! Simply jaw dropping.

As for 3D on the vita...I'm not sure if active shutter glasses are the way forward.

I don't see why a lenticular sheet couldn't be placed over the screen....which would be similar to the 3ds.

I don't mind wearing the glasses at home but out and about?

Re: Active Shutter 3D In The Works?

I would have agreed with you a year ago, but since Samsung changed to the bluetooth glasses, crosstalk and ghosting have nearly been eliminated.

It's a much better experience than the cinema now.

As for projectors, they were always my favorite, I regret selling my Sony HW10 a few years ago 2D of course). Waiting on a decent low to mid range 3D PJ to appear!

Re: Active Shutter 3D In The Works?

Yes it could be true, but anyway it would come into light later cuz sony would even want to make more money. they might say that u need to download a new kind of software which wud be quite expensive or u might need some new special 3d glasses but who knows. same with ps3 it was released on 2006 and nd now its capable of using it on 3d
