PS Vita: General Discussion

So I have registered my Vita with the PS3 via the remote play area on the ps3.

I have signed into my account on both the PS3 and Vita.

I have connected the Vita and PS3 via the USB

The Vita says "cannot connect to PS3" though.. any ideas? I don't know if I need to go somewhere else on the Vita or PS3 before pairing them up. I just want to move over some psp games from the PS3, unless there is another way??

Is the USB connector for the Vita in the right way? (i.e. the Playstation symbol is facing you)

I made that mistake the 1st time as well before I realised my error.

Also take note that if you've previously copied those PSP games onto a PSP, then you will need to re-download them and leave the installation files on the XMB.

You need to leave it in vita mode ... I found that if you download a via app in ps3 then select content manager on vita -the pa3 will show a dim screen with a vita on it ... On your vita u will see the content manager slow you to choose vita to ps3 or ps3 to vita

Also make sure u have registered the device for remote play

I haven't set mine up for remote play. Just plug the Vita into the PS3 and PS3 will ask you to sign in. Once signed in Content Manager will start to bounce on the Vita screen. Select and the PS3 will go dim and Vita will show an options screen. That's what happens for me at least. Hope it helps.

Its working now and this definitely wasn't the solution (possibly)

Mine seems to not want to connect at some times and does at others. It connects if I have a vita game on the PS3 and choose to transfer it, but sometimes doesn't register the USB lead.

When I try to connect the Vita freezes, i have tried reboot of the ps3 and vita.  If usb connected to the mains or a pc, vita is OK, but when usb connect to ps3, the vita immediately stops responding.

Seems to be an issue with ps3 as ok when plugged in to a different ps3.  Suggests issue with usb power through ps3.  So, going to swap out my ps3 at cex for newer model.

Ok to put song, etc on the vita, delete ur vita in remote play. Unplug USB, plug it back in. Don't press anything on ur ps3 jus open content manager on the vita.
For remote play register the device. Turn off the ps3 and then try to connect the vita to the ps3. It will turn on automatic. Jus don't touch any buttons on the ps3 controller.
