PS Vita: General Discussion

I have been loving my Vita since getting it day one, but I have started having a really annoying problem.

Recently I have been unable to play anyone online, it constantly has issues when trying to connect and has to cancel.

The 2 games that I am having this issue with are Wipeout 2048 and Hustle Kings, the strange thing is I was able to play online with Wipeout at first,  getting to level 2 set of races then suddenly it just wont connect.

Now I believe it may be a problem with my Virgin Media Superhub but I really don’t know what. Its strange because I can connect and use Wifi fine, connect to PSN, use Near ect but when I go to connect to play someone it always messes up now. As far as im aware (last time I checked) I have Nat type 2.

Does anyone else have a Virgin media Superhub and if so what suggestions would you have for changing settings to accommodate the Vita better? I have read that either setting up a static IP address or recording the Vita’s MAC address onto the hub can help prevent problems but im not 100% sure exactly how to do this and finding any help online has been hard.

Any help with this would be great as I am dying to play some more online games while at home with this but it just wont let me.

I use my Vita with the Superhub and have had no problems playing online. I didn't have to change any settings. It just worked. Have you tried turning your hub off at the mains and for 30 seconds? That can help. If it was working when you first got your Vita and has only just started happening, then it could be something at virgins end. Do you have any problems playing online with other games consoles? Hope you get it sorted

Virgin seem to have/cause problems because of network traffic shaping. I guess you can test that by playing on different network - see if prob goes away.

I have tried resetting the hub itself, was the first thing I tried when I started getting issues when trying to play online. As far as I am aware I hadn’t changed any settings before or after this which is the most annoying part of it, its like it just decided it didn’t want me connecting to other players yet lets me connect to everything else?!

My only other options from what I have read are the Static IP address or port forwarding but im not too sure about doing that on the hub.

you should noot need to portforward on you Superhub.
