Hadn't played it for a few weeks and there wasnt anything coming out soon that I wanted so I thought why not!

Dont get me wrong i'll rebuy it on a price drop or when a game comes out I really want like Phantasy star online 2.

The launch day buzz wore off and I still have my 3000

Re: Cashed my Vita in got a new iPad

I came in here expecting an insane thread slagging of the vita but have found a sane thread with a valid reason. At least you plan on getting the vita again and hopefully after E3 there will be a shedload of games to look forward too.

Alough if you dont rebuy the Vita, us here in Vita GD will hunt you down :smileyvery-happy:

Got to admit over the past week or so I've been tempted to do the same. I really do want an iPad but I do own a hannspad (android tablet) and that has been the only thing stopping me trading in my vita and selling my hannspad then getting a new iPad.

It's annoying my vita has been sat on the mantle piece for 2 weeks now with very little use, the no aptly of the launch games has wore off and new releases are non existant. The iPad and indeed android devices and iPhone are getting games daily and there is lots of really cheap (69p - £4.99) apps that offer a great gaming experience even if they are touchpad Bly and a little short for little outlay. The vita on the other hand seems like Sony have little to back up what is already out just like the psp suffered.
Sure E3 will be the time we see what the vita has to offer but at the moment there seems to be no light at the end of the game drought tunnel which makes android devices, apple devices and the 3 DS a better prospect that the vita as afterall it's games and software that make a system successful and not how powerful the hardware is.

I really do hope that by E3 we get lots to get excited about but at the moment there is very little to keep the vita in my hands.

Got an iPad(3) already - waste of money. If you have an iPad1 or 2 just keep on using them.

To Be fair, its been one month since release and there has been unit 13, Lego Harry Potter and another game which I think has slipped my mind

The 3DS I believe didnt have as much content offered as the Vita after or before the first month and its first big hitter didnt arrive till July 3 months after the release of the 3DS.

Re: Cashed my Vita in got a new iPad

The PS Vita was never made to be a short-term investment. I don't get why people even bought a Vita at launch if they weren't planning on keeping the console. Is it just the fact that the smell of new technology was too hard to resist for them? I just find it very hard to be disappointed with the Vita. It's definitely the best handheld system to date, there's no doubts about that, and I've owned every handheld console since the Original GameBoy.

I bought the 3DS at launch last year and it was much worse as far as flow of content goes. The eShop didn't even open until May (2 months after launch), and even then, the only downloadable 3DS game for months was Let's Golf 3D, poor I know. The very first big hitter for the console came out in June, which was Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Compare that to the Vita whereabouts it saw launch with Uncharted and Wipeout, and it's easy to see that the draught of games was even worse for Nintendo's side of the competition.

The new iPad may be shiny and new, as was the Vita when you first bought it. However, all technology starts to lose it's fresh coating after a while, and you might then feel the same way about the iPad as you do with the Vita right now. I have the original iPad (and coincidentally, I'm using it to type this message now), and whilst it was mind-blowing when I first bought it, it's now super slow and looks almost embarrassing next to the newer iPad models.

Although, it's nice to know you will be re-buying the Vita one day. So… I hope you enjoy your new iPad and we shall see you back in this section some time in the near future! :smileyhappy:

Hehe made me chuckle i'll def get one later on. The iPad 3 came out and I'd always considered getting one and so far it's a lot more versatile than the vita is and will be used daily unlike my vita. Launch console buzz as with any gadget always suckers me in. I had the same with my 3DS but the lack of titles can be explained away by the serious disaster that Japan had. I had no problem with the hardware at all I just didn't use the vita enough

My sentiments exactly Rotor.

In a moment of idiocy I contemplated the iPad 3 - but sense prevailed (for once). I payed nearly £700 for my iPad 2, and I only use it for surfing and messaging every now and then. The upgrade isn't justified in my eyes, and the iPad 10 will be out in less than a year !

Re: Cashed my Vita in got a new iPad

I still don't get the concept of buying a handheld games machine, but realising you wanted an iPad days later? Do I want a full on games system with decent controllers, or do I want to play angry birds and browse the internet? Hmmmm.
