Disappointing Customer Services (as usual) from Sony

[ Edited ]

All,

I thought I would throw my feedback here as Sony keep ignoring and fobbing me off so thought a bit of publicity on the issue might help!!

I purchased some PSP games for my Vita that have now either disappeared from the store or plain don't actually work correctly due to the inability to load content on to the memory stick (Beats as you can't load any MP3 to play with it so the game is dead, Miku Hatsune Project Diva edit mode is dead again as no MP3 can be loaded in to it but luckily the rest of the game is fine so not really too bothered about this one)

I also purchased another game Everyones Tennis which I bought even though I have it on UMD for my old PSP, as we have no PSP Passport program I have had to buy it at full whack twice now as I enjoyed playing it which has now just disappeared and the content on my PS3 (another stupid purchase I did in December) won't let me put it back on to my Vita.

Customer service from Sony has been absolutely abysmal, nearly 4 weeks for my Beats call and 3 weeks for my Everyones Tennis disappearing call and I am stuck going nowhere. Every call is "it is with Head Office" and "it is in a queue", there is no idea how many months/weeks/years until I will hear back from Head Office. I feel disappointed in Sony, knew it was a mistake to trust them as I vowed never to buy another Fony product 6 years ago after a ridiculously poor quality (£1500) Vaio product fell apart and the customer service on it was a joke!

Sony, will you actually help me? Does anybody have any idea how to get "Head Office" to actually look at your call? at present Trading Standards or my Bank looks like the best place for me to go to get nearly £50 worth of money back for useless content that Sony have happily taken my money for but either won't supply OR it simply doesn't work!

Any help/advise would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

James

As far as beats go your best bet is chase after the developer not sony to get that sorted.

As for psp games working i think they are working through trying to get all games working but i could be wrong.

And everyones tennis was removed due to hackers so as far that goes it's tough the best you could probably get if you bought from psn is ask for a refund as it isn't fit for use.

As for trading standards good luck with that as you will need it, as you have to prove that sony are at fault.

Hi,

Thanks for the speedy response, the Beats issue isn't the developer as the game itself works with the 2-3 built in songs the problem is that you can't put music in the "music" folder on the memory card of the PSP emulator so it has no music to play. I don't think this is the developers fault it is most likely an anti piracy measure by Sony preventing access to the memory card, this is something Sony need to fix if you ask me!

The Everyone's Tennis issue infuriates me even more now then as that is not my problem, you surely can't just revoke content like that and offer no sort of refund for it! to me this is pure theft.

I keep my PSP games on the PS3 due to the mental cost of the memory cards and just transfer the content over before I leave the house if I fancy a change, it makes sense as it is so easy to copy PSP games to and from the Vita (unlike Vita games) as you can leave the saved games in place and just remove the physical game which is great as I hate the thought of moving my save around.

My trust in Sony keeping my content safe is a at an all time low, is there a solution to this? what happens if I store it on a PC does that have the same restrictions.

Thanks

James

It does beg the question, why haven't they put those PSP games back that they revoked?  The hack is supposed fixed in the latest Vita firmware, why bother if they aren't putting the games back on PSN?

I agree that there are some issues with how Sony are marketing their downloadable PSP games too.

For example I bought Burnout Dominator recently and it made no mention that online play is no longer available.  Yes that is technically EA at fault, but I bought it from PSN so its also up to Sony to tell me these things in the description.  As it is I am just hoping they bother to make it work with Vita at all.

Good question, I doubt we will see an answer as they did not even mention the reason why the game had been pulled to me. They kept saying that we have never seen this before, it is a new issue so will be dealt with by Head Office!

Sony's customer service leaves a lot to be desired, I have only ever phone Microsoft up twice about my Xbox live account and they were spot on both times and resolved the issue there and then. I have never had content dissapear even between migrating between my old white 360 and my black Elite 360, it just doesn't happen.

I am not surprised Sony have lost a lot of loyal fans to Microsoft when they treat customers like dirt! I am not a fanboy of either side in fairness I just want to play games which is why I have both consoles so that I don't miss out, although my previous incident with my Vaio laptop kept me away from Sony for nearly 6 years (except for my pre order PSP).

I have a portable console which is great for the 2 1/2 hours a day on the the train I have to do for work which is why I upgraded my trusty PSP to a Vita! beginning to think I made a mistake although in the portable market there isn't much choice as I find Nintendo consoles to be a bit lackluster.
