You: GOOD. JUST DROPPING IN MY NOW DAILY "WHERE'S MY WIPEOUT CODE" QUERY.

Jaimin: Have you topped up with £5 and registered your account online?

You: I'VE DONE EVERYTHING.

Jaimin: Ok.

Jaimin: How long has it been since you registered?

You: ALMOST A WEEK.

Jaimin: Oh!

Jaimin: There are two conditions where you don't get the wipeout code.

Jaimin: 1) You go into a Vodafone store and purchase an individual SIM card

Jaimin: 2) You purchase a Wi-Fi Playstation Vita

Jaimin: Once you've topped up the Vodafone SIM card you'll receive an SMS to your Playstation Vita containing a redeemable code otherwise.

You: I SHOULD HAVE IT THEN.

Jaimin: I see.

You: It took me 4 days to actually successfully top up. My sim got " admin blocked " because I'd tried so often. Finally got that sorted. No code. Twice I got told it was a Sony issue ( I even got put through to Sony ) Sony said it's a Vodafone issue on both occasions. Contacted Vodaphone again. This time I was told to wait 72 hours. I waited 72 hours. Nothing. Called again & got told it was now a tech team issue & it'd be sorted in 48 hours. Guess what ??? Still no code. I don't have any other games for it yet so you can understand my frustration.

Jaimin: Lloyd, I completely understand how frustrating this can be.

Jaimin: What I suggest you do is, talk to our Pay As You Go Specialists directly.

Jaimin: I can connect you to them so this can be sorted out quickly.

You: I've spoken to them already.

Jaimin: I can call you right now, and connect you directly to them for help with this.

You: They just tell me to ring Sony

Jaimin: I see.

Jaimin: I will check your account notes to check the details of your previous interactions for this.

Jaimin: May I confirm your date of birth and the last 2 top up amounts on the account please?

You: Some customers who complain are just getting it sent via email. Can't you do it that way ?

You: ** / ** / **

Jaimin: The pay as you go team may be able to do so, it's just that we don't have access to the required tools here to action that.

Jaimin: Thank you for verifying your details.

Jaimin: One moment please while I check your account for this.

Jaimin: I just checked with the account history and went through the previous interactions.

Jaimin: I see that you were informed to contact Sony regarding the code, and I understand that you were not able to get it from them.

You: It's your promotion, not Sonys

Jaimin: Lloyd, I request you to talk to our pay as you go team with this, so this can be looked at further.

Jaimin: They would have the required tools to help you with this.

You: Ok, I'll try them again.

Jaimin: I can call you and connect you to them now, if you wish to talk to them now.

You: cool.

They couldn't help either !!!

She said she'd " try " to get a manager to call me back within 24 hours.

 

Come on Sony.... Step in !

Why don't you get a refund for the Vodafone top up. You paid for it on the basis you'd get a wipeout code - that hasn't happened. Ask for a refund.

With the £10 you've spent on top-ups you can buy Stardust and Motorstorm or something and just get Wipeout later.

Rotor.

 

EDIT : And load times for Wiepout are worse froma  mem card than from a game cartridge anyway, so probabaly better to get it that way.

I was lying about not having any other games, I was trying to generate a sense of urgency in the hope they'd fast track me.

That's not the issue though really.

You should ask to speak to the supervisor and then the manager, tell them ur not waiting for a call back. Also say that you are going to trading standards and citizens advice. You be amazed how most companies get off there backsides then.  Hope you get it sorted...

As somebody who works in a call centre (not a marketting one mind, but some things are universal) I have to say you're doing the right thing in pressing them, but from what I've read you have fallen for the common trap when it comes to dealing with Customer Service.

Don't ever shout at them. (Or in your case, type in caps - same difference)

Stay on their case and try to calmly tell them everything you've done, and you feel they're giving you the company line or fobbing you off, then push them further. If they wont budge, ask to speak to a superior - and if on a phone don't accept a call back from a manager, insist that they transfer you.
