Fixing the Error c2-12828-1 issue on your Vita

[ Edited ]

There seems to be so many threads about this I decided to post a guide to help people fix this issue

Now this is done 100% at your own risk, ill quite gladly assist anyone struggling with this and by all means answer questions, but this has fixed this issue with many vitas and seems to be the only fix other than a firmware update to fix the uPnP on the hardware.

In order to do this you need to be able to set up a DMZ in your router, find the IP Range and the IP Address of your wireless router

Information required

IP Adresss of Router (e.g. 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 - depends on make of router)

The IP Range of the router so you can pick 1 independant IP to assign

Step by Step Guide to setting up a Static IP on your Vita

1) Enter your Settings Application

 2) Enter Network

3) Enter Wifi Settings

4) Enter your Wifi Connection - (For example mine is JR1)

5) Enter Advanced Settings

6) Follow the information below

Click ok, and keep pressing back to ensure the information is saved in your vita.

Run the connection test to ensure it can connect to the Playstation Network located on this screen below (ignore the red box on this one)

Now go into your routers setup page, find the option for DMZ and enter the IP Address you put into your PS Vita and save this information and reboot your router.

Hopefully this should solve your issues, test with an online game of some sort, wipeout seems to be the big one causing the problems.

If you dont want to set up a DMZ you can manually forward the ports, please see the below ports for further information

Remote Play - 9293 TCP/UDP

PS Vita Playstation Network Ports (TCP/UDP 3000 and UDP 6999 MUST BE OPEN - VIta specific ports)

TCP  53,80,443, 3000,10070-10080
UDP - 3000,6999,10070

It is recommended if your going to set up a DMZ to turn off uPnP - however this may cause issues with other devices on the wireless network - so again only do that at your own risk - only recommended for advanced users only.

Any questions like i say, feel free and ill gladly help

Pick a random one, there assigned in number order, so basically if you range is something like 192.168.2.1 to 100, use something like 80 its likely to be unused
