By smaller titles, I hope its the like of Dead Nation, Payday the Heist, I am alive etc.  I don't mind if I can't play the likes of BF3 or any other big PS3 game.  If I can at least play the PSN only stuff, then I'd be happy with that. But so far, it seems as if Sony promised something that they can't even fulfil, fingers crossed though!

Sony has never promised full remote play with PS3 games on the Vita.

Re: Full Remote Play with PS3 Games Unlikely

If its down to power , maybe it will be possible on PS4 ,but then the games will use all of ps4's power.........

Battlefield 3 is a small game, honest !!! :smileywink:

I cant wait for E3 to see what Sony have in store for us, Vita needs momentum, games, apps, and more STUFF !

RAM not power is my assumption. They way around it is add a bit extra RAM to do these other things that the games or OS system does not use.

Gives the system a bit more versatility.

Sony are stabbing their loyal family customers in the back - We have 3 PS3s and 3 PSPs all on the same IP address and all registered with Sony. Why can't we use them at the same time anymore?

It would be nice if they could do it for most PSN games

Re: Full Remote Play with PS3 Games Unlikely

They could possibly have made every game on the PS3 support Remote Play, but it would have been a lot more work on the developers and some games would likely have to be scaled down to make it work.

Just look at games being played on PC vs games played on PC while capturing with FRAPS, the frame rate drops dramatically.

Now the PS3 will be heavily optimised to work more efficiently, especially as its more complicated due to user interactions having to be streamed too and in real-time no less.  However if it was just some effectively "free" functionality, I'm pretty sure more developers would have used it.

So even on PS4 I suspect it will be a minority who will use it, just how there are still games which do not support Playstation Move which would work with it, or games which don't support 3D, sometimes they will decide its just not worth the cost to implement the feature.

One difference this time is that maybe we will get slightly better support to compete with the Wii U.  But even then I'm not holding my breath as EVERY Wii U comes with the tablet controller, but not every PS3/PS4 comes with a PS Vita.  So it would still mean supporting a minority which generally leads to the "its not worth the cost/effort for a minority of users".

Re: Full Remote Play with PS3 Games Unlikely

I always thought remote play was a promised, my bad then. But that's makes it a pretty useless function then. I don't see any reason to use it at all if you can't play some PSN only stuff.....which I suppose is still to be confirmed or denied.

Re: Full Remote Play with PS3 Games Unlikely

I'm not bothered about full blu ray titles, but would love it for my PSN games as I've got a shed load to get through!
Mind you they can't even offer PS one support yet. So it could be a wait, as ever!

That is cross platform play, not remote play. 2 Copies of the game and cloud saving of the progress. A lot of games are doing it / promising it.

My bad, you can see how this whole situation has been fudged by Sony, they havent exactly been clear about it...
