Yes it is, but considering its a digital only title, i wouldnt expect the information to be readily available in a store regardless of who it was, google is your friend, Gravity Rush is a launch title over here and only available Via PSN

Accepting all 360/PS3 friend invites - just put in message from GS

Re: Game/Gamestation are hopeless

LMAO! How dare you expect a member of a gaming store to have kowledge of the titles or hardware they sell! They wont be here much longer anyways, they will be taken over by GameStop and a load of stores (probably Game Station branches) will close. Liverpool city centre has two Game & two Game Station stores, at least two of those will go either prior to any possible take over or before as GAME look to make major savings to try and survive! The problem they have is that they wont drop prices to compete with stores around them, making their situation even worse as people will just walk nextdoor. They have 50,000 PS Vitas in the company, and only have 25,000 pre-orders! Yes they will sell after the launch, but it wont be 25,000, more like 5 - 10,000. Its run by fools at the top.

It's the truth though, most of these in GAMe have no clue about a lot of what they sell or are going to sell.

Re: Game/Gamestation are hopeless

When we were talking about Game last week I was tempted to make some comments about their staff's lack of knowledge of the market they're in, but decided against it in case anyone here worked for them.

But, that was last week....

Besides the abysmal knowledge of the market they're in, what most infuriates me about Game/Gamestation is that the staff lack enthusiasm for gaming unless you want to buy the latest homoerotic ultra violent FPS (I'm looking at you CoD).

Surely, if you like Video Games enough to work in a game retailer, then you should show more of an interest than just one or two consoles and the 5 biggest games on them.

Why wouldn't you, I don't know, spend an hour checking what the Japanese are playing, browse a forum or two, or maybe look at Steam and see what's happening with PC Games.

Then again, don't be too harsh on Game/Gamestation - most high street shops seem to be unable to recruit staff who know anything about the products they sell. Tried asking about music in HMV or computers in PC World? It's embarrasing for the staff most of the time....

Rotor.

Re: Game/Gamestation are hopeless

When I was at GAME today, switching my preorder from a Wifi-only model to a 3G model, they told me some stupid things too. They tried to convince me that I was wrong about Wipeout 2048 coming free with the 3G model, and then a different member of staff told me that I won't really need a memory card as there is 512mb of internal storage. :smileyindifferent:
And this member of staff was also the one holding the Vita in their hands. *****.

Dont get me wrong, there are some staff who are gamers and know their stuff, but today proved to me that that's always the case…

They are all useless.

Theyve still got Unit 13 advertised in the shop as coming out on 22nd Feb and allowing people to pre-order it on the basis it will be ready with their vita.

But everyone knows it is not coming until March for god sake so anyone getting it with them will be p*ssed when they dont get it day one. Ive been in and said it aint coming out on the 22nd so why are they still saying it is and they just look at me bemused.

Re: Game/Gamestation are hopeless

[ Edited ]

I was going to say something positive about my local Game/Gamestation stores but I have to admit the more I thought about it, some things bothered me about my experience.

For example one of the staff members at Gamestation admitted to "not playing on the demo/managers unit because he wants the experience to be fresh when he gets his own".  I'm sorry but if you work in a game store that is unacceptable.  The customers have a realistic expectation for you to know what you are talking about and so you should at LEAST have tried all the content on the demo unit - isn't that the whole point why each manager has a retail Vita in the store?  Its not purely a perk of the job, its so that the staff have hands on experience of what they are trying to sell.

Also in Gamestation I was told by a member of staff that HE had been reading a lot online and that he heard PS2 games were coming to PS Vita.  They really shouldn't be telling customers rumours IMO as many will assume it to be fact.  I mean what forum was he looking at?  I have spent the last week or so keeping an eye on THIS forum, the one which should be most trustworthy and every time that subject has come up its been bashed down as pure rumour so he should know better.

Someone asked while I was in store if the PS Vita had TV out and the response was "I don't know".  Seriously?  Has it not been confirmed for MONTHS that Vita does NOT have TV out?  I mean sure, it might still be possible to add it later as we do not know what capabilities the extension port has, but the stock answer should be "NO".  Game/Gamestation have the exclusive on the demo units so you have an expectation that they NEVER answer with "I don't know".

On the other side of the scale, at Game I was surprised to find a female member of staff who actually seemed really keen on Vita and had tried out the demo unit.  She did direct me to the manager for specifics on the assumption that as he had been playing with a retail unit he had a better idea of what is what.  Upon talking to him however I did not get the impression this was the case and he even admitted at having to call Sony to figure out how to hard reset the console when it crashed, surely this information is in the manual?

Admittedly some blame must lay on Sony as they should have made all these things perfectly clear before trusting Game as the voice of PS Vita.  It certainly doesn't help that even us on this very forum are left in doubt as to what PSP games are going to work, so how can we expect Game to know answers to questions if Sony hasn't told anyone?

Re: Game/Gamestation are hopeless

hey, not all of us are bad? sure some of the points made here are stupid on the member of staffs part but alot/most are cracking people with alot of knowledge. Oh and guys, if you want to play Gravity Rush, then if your store has a DEMO POD then it will be on there :smileyhappy:
