The D-pads already there, we are just asking for an option to be able to use it for the menu's

With all those buttons it makes a bit of sense to be able to use them or at least the rear touch pad.

I'd like to see one of the sticks used for zooming in/out of web pages.

I'd like this option also...but for games that poorly/unnecessarily implement touchscreen controls.

I agree 100%. It completely defeats the object of the Vita, as it's key selling point was having the touchscreen, and if you're not a fan of using it for the Menu, then personally, I doubt you're going to have a lot of fun using touchscreen controls in-game. If Sony included the D-pad as an optional extra for the Menu navigation, it would just steer the customers away from using the touchscreen, which works perfectly if you ask me, I love it. For those who own keypad phones etc, it may seem weird at first, but you just need to get used to it, that's all.
