Yeah they mentioned this when they announced the vita, maybe you missed it..
I dont understand it myself, I havent decided if it will change me buying one or not, Still thinking. It could possibly sway me not to buy one. It will be the first playstation product that I dont buy if I dont.

hmm, i doubt i will buy one at all, im broke at the moment. i just thought it was pretty poor show that they would charge so much more to europeans. Things like this need to be highlighted if people are to make informed descisions before they buy a product.

Its not the same price in dollars as it is in euros ,
Wifi Only €249 $249.99
3G/Wifi €299 $299.99
It's clearly $0.99 more expenscive in dollers.

I would rather buy it in a local shop if it was priced fair, things are not looking good for the local shops though.

I do believe the Vita is not region locked. Therefore, buy it from the US, not only do you get it cheaper, you get it sooner because, IIRC Vita will not make a 2011 release date in the UK.
How will this work, though? PS3 games are region free but DLC and patches always seem to be region specific.
I'm not familiar with the hendheld line of Playstation products but could this not cause potential problems with simply importing?
