Its not exactly what I'd have gone with, I don't see what was wrong with PSP2 tbh.

On the plus side though when I'd seen it written down just before E3 I envisaged the Americans pronouncing it Vi-da.

It was never going to be PSP2 because the PSP brand is dead in the USA. Sony wanted to try and distance themselves from that and quite understandably so. The Vita is fine and most won't actually care once they have it in their hands. There was outcry when it was announced as the NGP and now people quite like that so it just shows how silly things can get.

Playstation Vital

Have sometimes pronounced it "Viita" as the "Vita" is a bit short to say.

I'm happy with my PS3 though so I don't believe I'll buy handheld consoles anytime soon, if ever. The only handheld gaming device I have / had was one of those 1980's electronic games by Q&Q, if I remember correctly it was King Kong. Haven't seen it probably since the 80's, may be somewhere at my parents storage.

I agree with OP. vita is totally sissy and sucks. sony should fire whoever game up with it. What was wrong with PSP2, that would have been classy. Also the one who left BL-UMD drive out should be sacked.

My requests for SONY: 1) Integrate PlayStation3 and your 400 disc MEGACHANGER, Im way too lazy to switch game BDs, u could call it forexample MEGASTATION. 2) Build Specialized Fat-AiBO which has MEGASTATION in belly and two projectors as eyes for 3D projection in any given room of the house. You can call them PLAiBO.
