Re: Is the Vita too late to save?

Yeah I don't really like all of those either however those are the big budget titles that will sell the system. Should get good reviews for most of them at least.

The vita is and continues to be the worlds most desirable portable gaming platform.

I say again... I love the Vita and am counting the hours to Gravity Rush, MGS HD and Lego Batman 2 but worry that iOS and Android would be far more desirable to developers purely through installed userbase.

Re: Is the Vita too late to save?

How is it dead? Mine turns on, and it launches games I want to play,a nd I play them. Not to mention, two games on the horizon that I want to play, ragnarok and new king something or other. It's not dead as long as I still enjoy playing it, and with modnation now, those two later, unit 13 and that gravity rush game if I get super bored, my purchas has long since been justified.

Re: Is the Vita too late to save?

I'm still very much on the fence about buying a Vita. What's happened to the Killzone game that is supposedly in developement for it?

All in all, there will have to be a good lot more desirable titles to be made available for it, before I invest.

Re: Is the Vita too late to save?

It's a great little handheld which already has some very good games.  I'm not sure that many of them are system sellers and needs either a more affordable price, better bundles or better games.

Probably be a redesign in 6 months with a lighter console, internal memory and an SD card slot to screw all of us early adopters.

[ Edited ]

Its a viscous cycle, people are on the fence because the PS Vita has "no good" games so they don't buy it, yet developers are probably put off by the fact the vita sales are low so they focus on what will sell.
Thankfully Ubisoft are still supporting the vita with games including assassins creed.
Also Call of Duty should sell more Vitas (although i'm not a call of duty fan many people are).
If more people buy the Vita more developers will create great games for it.

Sony are also supporting the Vita pretty well through games and application such as youtube etc.

Re: Is the Vita too late to save?

I'm sorry, but this thread is ridiculous. Granted I haven't read through all the posts so I might be jumping to conclusions. The Vita is far from 'too late to save', We are still only on the launch games. The problem is with the Vita is simply the price, not many people can afford it (I never knew getting £300 as a teenager for my birthday) of course there is exceptions. So really we are looking at people who work and are paid well enough to have about £300 spare. So we can say the demographic is about 21+, which most people at that age have other commitments rather than gaming.

Games like Call of Duty, Assassins Creed is going to appeal to teenagers the most and parents are just going to refuse to pay so much for a games console when they can get an xbox for £120, so they must have a pretty good excuse to get an handheld.

Sony don't actually make much of a profit because this amount of technology just isn't affordable to manufacture. Until these become cheap components then the price will drop. I think it's excellent that Sony has taken the risk to provide us with this level of technology and push for the higher price tag. I paid £320 for mine on launch including 3 games and 8gb memory card. I wouldn't have if I didn't feel that it was worth the money.

The PSVita is worth the money, honestly it is. We just need to wait for Christmas, after Christmas if the sales still are failing then maybe we can call it too late. It's a shame, personally I don't understand why anyone would disregard buying a PS Vita if they have the money! It's an amazing device (the shoulder buttons need revising though, there a little cheap feeling) but everything else. Amazing.

Re: Is the Vita too late to save?

I agree with most of the previous comment but can't help but think that calling the thread ridiculous then struggling to mention who the key demographic of the console is kind of the point.

21+ hardcore gamers is not going to help a system survive or we might still have been playing the Dreamcast.  Price needs to drop AND more AAA titles need to be announced and arrive and sharpish.

I think the Vita will be ok, the title of the thread was obviously deliberately inflammatory but I wonder how much it needs to sell and how good the games need to be for it to be considered a success and for Sony to keep making handhelds.
