LiveArea Refresh

Can someone explain the LiveArea Refresh. Does it auto download game/app updates?

It updates the LiveArea - ie the page it opens when you select the game/app to open. When you click refresh it will update this page, and show things like what your friends have been up to and if there is an update the download icon will appear at the top (yellow circle with arrow pointing down).
