PS Vita: General Discussion

Luckily, I'm only playing one game at the minute, which I'm only about 30 minutes into, but lost all of my save files for the rest of my games. I did a backup today on the PS3. Backed up everything, even the apps. Then restored everything to a 32GB card, but I seem to have lost all save data.

Did I miss something? I'm glad I finished all of the games before I did the move, but it would be really heartbreaking if I hadn't.

Pretty annoying that you can't just back up game saves. Not sure why we don't have the option.

UPDATE: Oddly, I still have my save files for Escape Plan. Lost the files for Mutant Blob, Stardust, Uncharted & Unit 13. I thought UC & Unit 13 saved onto the cartridge?

Needs to be a simpler & clearer way to save game data. It's dead easy & convenient on the PS3.

i think i saw an option to copy saves when i connected the vita to ps3.

i certainly moved psp saves around.

Yeah you right, but it's only an option to move PSP saves. Vita saves aren't even listed.

I can't find any concrete info on a way to back up saves. It's just game data. Which in my case, I had to reinstall & download all updates again, so the restore technically didn't even work.

I would of hated to find all this out a year from now If I upgraded.

when I did mine I never lost anything at all, game data and save data all successfully transferred.

Vita Games/Apps have their save data and DLC all combined into one. So if you're deleting stuff from your Vita to make more room, it's important that you back up the app/game before deleting it.

And as far as backing up and restoring goes, for me, it copied absolutely everything. I've had 3 different Vita consoles due to faults and restoring everything onto each new console worked flawlessly. At times I thought I was still using my original Vita as it worked all the same and everything was there.

In future, if I was you, I'd back up each and every game individually every once in a while. I always do this incase a specific game's files were to go corrupt, I could put the game backup data back onto my Vita and not have to start again from scratch.
