Hi guys,

I live in Europe, and I would like to import the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection from America. Is it likely that there will be DLC for the game? 

Another question: can you download updates for games that are not from your region?

As it's a HD collection of old games i think it is highly unlikely that there will be any updates but if there is the dlc would be region locked and the game would have to be the same region for it to work.

I imported the HD collection for ps3 and downloaded the updates just fine.
However, if you have the HD collection on ps3 and it's a Europe game, don't quote me on this, but I don't think transfarring will work. Atleast, I couldn't get Peace walker to transfarr to my psp and vice versa.

Well that won't be a problem for me, since I don't have a ps3

Why not just wait for the EU release ?

Plus I'm going on a holiday, and if I pre order it in Europe, it will arrive on the day after I leave.

Firstly it's hardly worth importing considering the difference in release dates is only 17 days. By the time you take shipping time into account it's a lot less. As far as price goes Shop To has it for £22.85 which comes to less then $36. The import with shipping costs will probably cost you more then that.
