Hi there. do get the idea of 3G bills that can go through the roof if one is not carefull, but shouldn't that be the customers own resposibility?!

Come on! I only work with 3G at my house for my PS3. I've got a DATA CONTRACT!!!! 60GB p/m before 12pm and 60GB p/m after 12pm! And I pay a fixed amount for that every month, so when 120GB in total is finished before the 1st of the next month then its my bad!!!!

So why does Sony restrict my usage of my data plan when I pay for it a set amount?! Come on guys?!?!

20mb is really useless.

Why would you wanna download anything through 3G? It's a lot slower than Wi-Fi.

Its a company in South Africa. 3G is about the fastest lines we've got here We dont have Wi-Fi here except if you do a wi-fi setup in your house with your own router.

Sucks staying in a 3rd world country! lol

We don't have wi-fi here as far as I know I've got the quickest internet available here in South Africa. running at a useless 4mb/s lol.

Jeebus, thats a lot of 3G, I thought I was doing well with 3GB allowance a month!

If that is the case, can you not setup a wifi hotspot using your home 3G and connect that way?  You should then be able to bypass the 20mb limit?

Yeah thats what I'm doing at the moment, but I was hoping to mess around with downloading games etc when I'm going away. (travel a lot.... bicycle team mechanic)

ps... I cant use my simcard that im using for the 3G on a phone to call. it is only for data usage and its a little laggy on certain online games. BF3 Esp!

Ah ok, I see!  My advice then would be to ensure you travel to places which have free wifi!

Sorry, not really the most practical advice, I know, but until they either relax the restrictions or allow you to pick alternate data plans (like the one you already have, lucky sod! ), I think you may be stuffed.

On your other point, yes, in a sensible world, sony could rely on people to manage their connection sensibly, but with so much of this technology being accessible to children, who have no concept of how much things cost, I think Sony are playing it safe, rather than leave themselves open to criticism that they did nothing to keep VITA connection costs sensible.

Wow, that sucks. I couldn't imagine my life without internet, since I've been using it since I was 7.

Do you not have a PS3 you could download what you want to it, and then transfer it over that way?

Only thing I can suggest is to take a phone with you when you travel that you can Wifi Tether through - this seems to work OK with Vita and will side step the 20Mb limit.

Do you travel internationally with your team? I don't imagine the 3G data you have is roaming too!
