PS Vita: General Discussion

Personally I find it annoying having to wait for it to bootup at all, but then that is what standby is for so there isn't really a good excuse to moan about it when there are valid alternatives.

i don't use my vita that much (i don't touch it for days) so stand by is not ideal for me.

still this 30 sec of waiting for it to boot while a game cartridge is inserted is annoying & to be honest it does sometimes put me off turning my Vita on.

I only have 3 cartridge based games for my Vita and the game with the shortest wait time is Uncharted with 3.5 seconds and the longest wait time is Asphalt: Injection with 19.5 seconds.

Hate to have seen you in the C64 and Spectrum days Robocop 10 minutes to load that's when it did not crash.

LOL. I remember those days. Having to load games from tape and the fact that sometimes the loading crashed and you had to start over. At the moment I've got a game in my cartridge slot but I'm waiting for a Hori card game storage case to be delivered. I'm going to store my games in there on the go and not leave one in the game slot.

Turn Vita on, go make a cup of tea, play Vita.

Does it take 30 seconds to register the cartridge if you insert it AFTER the console has already booted?  If not, then why not just eject the cartridge before turning the power on?

lol those days the C64 was probably considered one of the 7 wonders of the world.

no idea as i just leave the cartridge in the slot unless i'm done playing the game then it's time to insert another.

Its a weird glitch, that is true.  But if you haven't even checked if you can avoid the glitch by ejecting the game cart before powering up, its a bit silly to be claiming it to be some huge failing.

The Vita has glitches, we know.  But that one is not half as annoying as downloads struggling along at 1Mbit on a 40Mbit connection due to the WiFi not working right, or people who can't get WiFi to work at all.

Think yourself lucky you are using cartridge based games.  It just took me 3 hours to backup my 32GB card to the PS3.  They better improve that or in a few years when we (should) have 128GB cards we are going to have to do all backups overnight or give up using the Vita for a day - stupid.
