Re: PS Vita isn't a 'very strong product', claims Miyamoto

Ask the Killzone creator to rate the 3ds I bet he will say" well I think we can't create fps games on it, since the screen is so pixelated you can't aim and shoot at anything beyond 100m in game because all is pixels blocks."

Nintendo are usually quite positive about their competition, if something is good they usually say so.

However this could just be them feeling the pinch with their first loss.

I have to agree with the earlier poster, the GBA games etc do NOT make up for the original price of the 3DS.  I feel a little let down at how much I paid for my 3DS, although that is partly because I cannot see there being many games worth getting on it compared to the Vita.

The Vita on the other hand feels like a good investment.  Once Little Big Planet comes out its going to seem all that much better.

Yes the memory card cost me a fortune, particularly as I bought a 16GB first then had to sell it at a loss when I upgraded to 32GB.  But I was the one who chose to buy digitally rather than buying retail, so I could have chosen to save the money and gone with a 4GB.

Yeah, I think I'd take his opinions with the same grain of salt that I'd take Cliffy B's outlook on the Uncharted franchise to be fair...

"Its not a very strong product, meanwhile we have our new gamecube coming out with a big ipad screen and our N64 pocket 3D is selling loads to preschool market!"

Yeeehhh... i dont think anyone at Nintendo has much to stand on when talking about hardware when they been peddeling old crap for the last so many years.

Sure its not selling too great, but those who have one can agree its a ***** awesome console and we all look forwards to when the releases start to flood in.

Sony just need to finish sorting themselves out (with the whole TV market thing) and focus resourses like they said they will.

Dont get me wrong, i love Nintendo games but the hardware has never been that great in terms of raw power. The Vita has enough under the hood to see it through a good few years. It is a very nice piece of industrial design while the 3DS is a flawed piece of relatively cheap hardware. They acknowledged their mistakes in designing it by releasing that godawful circle pad add on and the wobbly slider to adjust 3D was clearly a result of testing it after it was in the late stages of design. If it was so good and the selling point why have a slider to turn it off. I have had 2 3ds consoles and the rigid viewing angle and headaches put me off each time.

Re: PS Vita isn't a 'very strong product', claims Miyamoto

The slider is because everyones eyes are slightly different, they are a different distance apart or focus slightly differently.  Some people cannot tolerate 3D at all which doesn't mean they should be forced to NOT be able to play the latest Pokemon game (which eventually WILL be 3DS exclusive).

For example I generally have to crank it up to full because I have a lazy eye which seems to cause me to perceive 3D less intensively than other people.  Some movies I barely perceieve the 3D at all, especially popout effects do not seem to work for me most of the time.  So attributing the 3D slider to a bad design choice is so very wrong.

Now the lack of a second analog I totally agree, dumb idea.  But I'm sure the 3DS XL will be an awesome piece of kit if they put that right analog in and make the screen bigger.  It always seems to be the way with Nintendo handhelds that the second revision is the one to buy, the first always seems to have some nasty flaws.

Gameboy was monochrome and big and heavy, Gameboy color fixed that.

GBA was awful with its lack of backlighting, GBA SP fixed that.

DS had dull lifeless screens and poor WiFi support, DSi fixed that.

Of course by contrast Sony hit it first time with the Vita, its perfect apart from some software flaws.  But Sony were willing to make a huge loss on developing/selling it, Nintendo always made a profit on hardware until 3DS.  So mostly its paid off for them to play it that way, although its not that good for us to consumer.

Re: PS Vita isn't a 'very strong product', claims Miyamoto

The 3DS was running dead in the water 2 month after it was released.

The fact that the Vita has more games for it after 2 months than the 3DS had in 6 months IMO means this guy is not quite right in the head.

Yes I own a 3DS as well as a Vita.

Below is a Signature

Sony are stabbing their loyal family customers in the back - We have 3 PS3s and 3 PSPs all on the same IP address and all registered with Sony. Why can't we use them at the same time anymore?

Re: PS Vita isn't a 'very strong product', claims Miyamoto

owning all the consoles makes no difference to bias. I own a great gaming pc but I still prefer my ps3.

As for this I dont think it should matter what they say, they are going in different directions and audiences so ofcourse they will not agree or think its a "strong product".

With the likes of smart phones etc coming up I think that it as it is isnt as strong as it could have been but I still like it.

Really unnecessary comment ... You seem to be overly defensive on all your post.

True....Vita is great and has the potential to be greater, but time waits for no man.
