PS Vita: General Discussion

hi I need help choosing. My holidays are coming up and I want a good handheld device to take with me. I've heard both of these handhelds are good in terms of games like mario and uncharted. But ive also heard bad things about both. I only have enough to buy one so what do you think is the best?

ps vita!!!!!!!!! because graphics are great and you can voice chat to friends without a headset and the 3ds xl isnt that great because the 3d isnt that great!

Make a list of the games you want to play, Vita vs 3DS. I think that should be your main consideration.

These sorts of threads arent going to really help you mate. Firstly, your on a PlayStation forum, so most will say Vita anyway. Secondly, its down to personal tastes.

It depends on what you want from the handheld. Do you want 3D? or do you want console-quality games? Do you want to play Nintendo exclusives or Sony exclusives (Mario, Pokemon vs Uncharted, Gravity Rush). What games are you into?

I personally love my PSVita, havent played a 3DS so cannot comment, but i have a host of games on my Vita, and still play it daily, and i have had it since launch.

Like QualityWrong says, your best making a list.  I own both, & I would say to get a Vita, but your really should make the game list for both consoles, & also look into what's coming in the future.

Both handhelds have great games at the minute, for personally the Vita's future line up appeals to me more than the 3DS.

This isn't exactly the best place to be asking a question like that considering its a Vita centric forum and answers will be somewhat biased not to mention the Playstation fanboys will come out of the woodworm with their "Vita is the best and 3DS is crap" comments, especially referencing the graphics disparity which shouldn't be a decision maker any way. I own both and both have their pros and cons. The best thing to do is to look at which one has games out and coming out that you want to play. You can't really go wrong with either.

As others have said, the majority will say Vita as your asking on a Playstation forum.

I have both and I haven't touched my DS since the Vita comes out but that's because I love games such as Uncharted, Gravity Rush, Metal Gear Solid HD etc.

REASONS TO GET VITA:

-3ds 3D FUNCTION REALLY HURTS YOUR EYES (I HAVE PLAYED ONE)

-PSVITA HAS CONSOLE QUALITY GAMES (UNCHARTED, WIPEOUT)

-PS STORE HAS LOTS OF PSMINIS AKA SMALL GAMES THAT CAN BE REALLY ADDICTING AND THEY ALSO OFFER PSP GAMES, SO YOU CAN BUY PSVITA AND PSP AND HAVE THEM ALL ON ONE CONSOLE

-PSVITA IS BETTER AS I HAVE HAD A DS SINCE THEY FIRST CAME OUT (AND A GAMEBOY) BUT THE PSVITA IN TERMS OF GAMES AND SOFTWARE, IS A BIG STEP AHEAD OF NINTENDO
