OK... I've been mulling over this 'tech demo' argument.
Why would sony show us something in a 'technical demonstration' which presumably would demonstrate what the vita is tecnologically able to do - and then not implement it?
'Hey everybody at E3, take a look at my Vita playing a PS3 game!....cool eh?'
They never said it would, but then again, I cant remember them saying it wouldn't either.
It was misleading in my opinion.
Homebrew has seemingly made it possible. Whether it was a hacked ps3 or a hacked Vita, it shows it's possible on the systems. If bedroom programmers are able to use the hardware to it's full potential, why can't Sony?
....and yes. I did see the recent tweet from some Sony bigwig saying it wouldn't be possible.
I'm confused.![]()

Well you're reading more into it then you should be. More like you're trying to convince yourself just because they showed must mean they are going to implement it. It's not the first time a tech demo has been shown of something that want implemented and it won't be the last. Sony have already publicly stated recently that they are not likely to implement it so I really don't know why people keep going on about it. IMO Sony should be focusing their resources in adding to or improving the Vita specific feature set rather then wasting time and resources on any form of backward compatibility. Remote play is not needed nor neccessary especially if it's not going to be 100% efficient performance wise.

Thanks.
Still don't understand why sony show us a what a vita is capable of in a 'tech demo', and then not utilise it.
Have you seen the CFW running ps3 games?
One example is the youtube app we've been asking for since the launch.

Some clever bugger found a way round it.....why not sony?

That's the thing these tec shows used to be behind closed doors and us the public never saw what went off till a lot later if we were lucky
But now with camara's and the amount of interest people see these things but the shows them selves have not changed
How many paintents get filed every year and never get used.
Ps3 game remote play was something sony hoped for but unforseen circumstances means it is not possible to do it how it was originaly meant to be done right now.
Yes I have seent he custum firmware doing this but the hackers do not have a set of rules to stick to and they won't admit if it is doing something that will effect how you consoles will work which could damage it.
Companeys are always showing of things at tech shows that never get anywhere and sadley this is one of those things. It is how it works.
If people want to risk custum firmware top do this which could over time knacker their console I have no problem with it, but I won't.
As for the youtube cra er app that is not down to Sony to do it is down to the people who own youtube and then submit it to sony for testting.

We All saw the footage of the vita playing a ps3 game, and we've all seen the official ad telling us it was going to be implemented.
Before the unofficial tweet the other week (two months after vita launch), I have yet to see any official statement from sony saying that ps3 streaming is not going to be used.
If there is statement from sony please post the link.

So, SONY tells us there is not enough resources to make it happen. Custom firmware magically creates the resources out of thin air but it may damage the console? How exactly would it damage the console? It is unoficial firmware and when hackers make the firmware they do not follow a set of rules that needs to be followed and bypass certain things of the hardware which in turn may not run properly and cause undesired effect to both hardware/software Either the resources are there or they are not. I don't see any logical explanation for hardware-damage through remote control. The only thing that is remotely possible would be overheating but I seriously doubt that that is the problem with remote control.overheating could well be a problem you are transmitting data and lots of it, the ps3 may not be able to handle this over a prelonged time, it has a slower network card so could that handle the data?Could be all the RAM is deddicated so taking away some ram to do that may also cause problems.
The only thing that does make a little sense is that remote control works but seeing that there are limited resources it would affect the quality and stability a game would run in. So meaning the framerate would drop or some games will occasionally hang, and while hackers certainly don't care about that, SONY can not release something that would run this poorly, so I certainly see this as an explanation but hardware damage is kinda improbable.
I am ok with remote play not working for older titles but it could very well work for newer titles if they created a mode straigth in development and I don't mean spend months on coding one. Just drop the resolution for the remote play version and free some resources this way. The problem is no developer, including SONY, ever wants to support remote play. The cheapest of games don't support it. In my opinion every game that supports 3D should easily be able to output remte play 2D in the lowered 3D-mode, yet not a single game supports it, I am sure with some games developers are just to lazy to set the remote-possible flag to one and have someone test it (testing however would cost money and since they probably think noone would use it, why waste the money).
Personaly never bought it for remote play just for the Vita games I want.

I would love this to be implimented but know why sony would rather forget it.
Can you imagine people moaning that certain games had unreadable text due to down scaling the res from 720p to the vita screen.
But i think they should annouce it as up and running at e3 but its not supported 100% for all games.
All will work but some will work better than others.
would be a good bonus and get some good light on them in the media again.
I'd love to be able to play saints row here.
or wander round skyrim.

I'm deaf, and talk and write good. I know it wasn't on purpose but I didn;t like that you said that.
